I’m sensing a wee bit of sarcasm in your statement!
I grew up in the South, in GA and attended the University of Alabama. I just love how people are calling me out for stating the obvious in the rural South. There are so many red necks that drive around in their old beat-up pick-up trucks with the Confederate flag hanging in the back window and a deer antlers on the front grill. Now this isn’t all of us, but believe me there are many in the South who still think the South will rise again, mostly uneducated.
The South has changed, although the last time I visited was during the turn of the century, so my information could be outdated. I don't have much desire to revisit, I have been focusing my traveling to Europe and Asia, although I do frequent the few soul food restaurants in LA.
In my days, Archie Manning's team was 100% Mississipian boys, ok, I don't know that, but quite sure it was over 98%, the same percentage applied to the student body too, almost all white, all Mississipians, with a few minorities. The service personnel were almost all black. Archie was a hero, he could do no wrong.
Waving "Southern Cross" during football games? Hey that was the Rebel's flag, lol, for Rebel football, 98% of the students and faculty waved that. Southern Cross on the license plate? Been there, done that. Did that plate earn side eyes in LA? Sure it did, fingers too.
I think 'Bama and Mississippi are quite similar, although we were lower down the food chain. We, the Rebels HATED your team, lol, oh well.
Sarcasm?!?
@toffee Get your ass in here!
Also - Welcome Bamagirl!
I perused one of the Bama boards after the draft and the posters seemed split on whether his abilities can be coached up. Most seemed to agree he is an athletic freak. There was some back and forth about the skill players threatening to leave if he stayed - but there was never any back up for that just rumors.
See above, I don't do sarcasm, I meant every word that I posted.
