Who owns the plays in the playbook ?

Does the team own them or the head coach or are there owned the offensive cordinater ? If a new play is develop who has the right to that play ?

This was rattling around my head for awhile.

I don't think anyone owns any play, the playbook however is
the property of the team I believe.

Plays can not be rights protected--they are stolen with impunity.

I was thinking that when a coach or cordinater leaves the team to go where ever do they have the right to take the playbook with them ?
