Can the Mariners blow yet another 3 run lead against a bad/mediocre team? Up 3-0.

You almost jinxed them in the 8th. Come on we need this win

The more I see of O'Malley, the more I like him. Damn, that was some play in the 8th.

Nice win by the M's.

5 hits, 14 strikeouts for the offense. What a weird win.

Question: Was LeBlanc out of options? Why did he get DFA'd instead of optioned down?
IDK, but Miranda has gone 3 ball counts on just about every batter in the 1st.

ya but right now outside of Diaz, nobody in their bullpen is pitching well.

A win tomorrow is huge to take any kind of momentum into texas.

It feels like we are slowly fading out of contention. I still think we hang til the end, but it will be tough with the more teams that compete for that last wildcard. It's not going to be easy fighting over one spot with teams who have had experience in playoff races.

Agree as I also posted above. Getting close to time to put the fork in this team. Still played betond my expectations which as a Mariner fan were, not surprisingly, low (78 wins in the predict the season record thread which they'll surpass).

there are people who are questioning Servais' managing skills and while a few times this season I scratched my head over some of his decisions, for the most part hes done great. You rarely see a new GM and manager make a turn around like this in just their first year. If we had the starting pitching and bullpen from the 2014 team, we would have one of the better records in the league. I think it will be the players fault more than anything if they dont make the playoffs. All year we never really had a shut down guy in the bullpen. At the moment it looks like we have our closer moving forward but not much else. LOLy'd McLELndon, now he was just bad at managing...

I like him overall but bunting in the 7th with Zunino with guys on 1st and 2nd and no outs really was not smart. I personally would never bunt in that situation no matter what but Zunino is a power hitter. He is not a bunter. Even if the bunt is successful you are minimizing the chance for a huge inning there. There are 9 precious outs remaining. Don't give one of them away. He was lucky it wasn't a double play.

Then when he pinch hit for Dae Ho with Lind when it was obvious they were going to bring in their lefty specialist. That was just not good baseball at all. It would have been nice to have Lind available to pinch hit in the 9th when they brought their right handed closer in. Lind had a game winning hr earlier in the season against him.

Not a good game for the manager.

It's hard to measure Dipoto and Servais' first year because the previous two years were so whacky. Two years ago we won 87 games and we seemed destined to make the playoffs within the next year or two. Last year we were one of the most disappointing teams in baseball. Do we compare this team to only last years team? Or do we compare it to the past two years? I think too many M's fans are getting caught up only comparing it to last years team, which is wrong. That team massively under-achieved.

And to be honest, a lot Dipoto's moves have not worked out. You would think he would be a candidate for GM of the year, but I think if you counted all his moves, he has more blunders than hits. Either way I really like Dipoto. Even the moves that didn't work well, I understand the thinking behind them.

This is a game where you put Vincent OR Cishek in. A mop up role. But instead we'll save those two turds for a game where we have a 1 run lead. Our manager is a turd. People who are praising him don't know baseball. He makes the dumbest decisions that go against the fundamentals of baseball. No small ball. No common sense. Just a huge poop bird.

Yeah, Servais definitely makes some real head scratching moves.....not sure what to think about him yet. And bring this far into the season, I don't think that's a good thing.

The Royals just passed us. It's over. I'd be shocked if a team that hasn't made the playoffs in well over a decade beats out a team that has been in the past two World Series.
