This game is on Servis (sp? Do not care) if you are not going to go with fast Eddie you leave Caminaro (sp?) in for 2, after Wilhelmson (sp? Do not care) gives up the first homer you pull his ass. Pin this loss (currently 7-6 Brewers) on epic failure to manage the bullpen. Throw Carter breaking balls in the dirt and he'll swing all day long..

Can't piss away a game like this by being cute with the bullpen in the middle of a playoff race.

Wrong. This game is on the ineptitude of our defense. Martin drops a ball they call a double, Aoki is a turd and lets a ball drop and Ianetta doesn't understand how baseball works.

Game is not on the manager if you can't find one single pitcher other than Diaz to get three outs with a three run lead.

Its official Mariners will never make the playoffs because everyone on the team is stupid, bottom line. I hate Aoki. He has just surpassed Joey Cora as my most hated mariner.

This team.

Welp, we won the series, which we pretty much need to do the rest of the way. I really don't want to see Aoki in a Mariners uniform anymore. His bat is hot, though, but that's 2 games he's cost us. I also don't agree with Servais bringing Tom in. Diaz got the day off yesterday. Use him today. This is crunch time. If the M's end up missing the playoffs by a game or two, this game probably comes to mind. Bizarre season.

I think it's time to retire Shawn O'Malley as a corner outfielder. He's almost as bad out there as Aoki is. Isn't Heredia still on the active roster? He looked great as a defensive replacement.

I feel bad for Wilhemsen. The first HR was a no-doubter but with a 3 run lead a solo shot isn't that big a deal. The 'double' bounced in and out of Martin's glove... probably the only time that has happened all year. The game tying HR cleared the wall by inches, the second such HR of the game, and both were catchable if not for having terrible defensive outfielders who can't time a jump to save their lives.

Mariners offense fell asleep after Garza left the game, that didn't help much either.

This loss sucks a lot, had a chance to make up ground on several teams and blew it in epic fashion to maybe the worst team the Mariners have played all year. Might be the second shittiest loss of the year, only the Lester walk-off bunt game was worse.

The Mariners were up 6-1 with three innings to go against a team that was miserable on the road and was riding a 6 game losing streak.

I understand protecting Daiz, but he didn't even pitch yesterday. If I'm Cano, Seager, Cruz I'm pissed, right in the middle of a playoff chase and can't even throw out our closer in a game that if you lose is demoralizing. Should have never brought Diaz in on Friday if this is how your gonna play it. Bad lose

Totally forgot about Martin's drop. Disastrous half inning.

So uhh....series win against the Yanks, right?

I'm fine with them saving Diaz for high leverage moments. That said, I would have pulled Wilhelmsen after the double, even though it wasn't really his fault. You could see the fear in Wilhemsen's eyes.

That's why this loss sucks, the Yankees series looks really tough. We only have one good pitcher going in that series and he'll be facing Tanaka. The Yankees will have the pitching advantage in all 3 games. There's a very real chance, especially with Texas coming up right after, that this loss today could snowball into something terrible that pushes Seattle out of the realistic playoff picture.

I'll gladly take 3-3 in the next six if the Mariners can get it. I have a hunch that 2-4 is probably what we'll get, maybe worse.

The Mariners are starting to pay the price for a patchwork pitching staff and bad corner outfield defense. Today's loss sucks, but it actually didn't hurt all that bad because it felt a bit like poetic justice in a way. We can't expect the Mariners to keep winning so many games with these glaring issues.

Oh well, each new series is a chance to make up for the mistakes of the past. Hopefully Seattle can get lucky in this yankees series and show up against the Rangers for a change.

I hate myself for going back and watching the replays, but something is seriously wrong with Aoki. It was almost as if he ran away from that pop up in the ninth. To not even come close to catching that ball.....i just......don't understand. Remember when he missed touching 2nd base earlier in the year, too? How is he hitting .364 this month? It's Sunday and I have nothing to do which means most likely I will spend the rest of the day raging about this game.

I can live with Aoki but they need to sub him out late in games for Heredia.

Wow just saw the highlights. Ugly game. One to forget about. I think Servais knows he mismanaged the game (bullpen and not making correct defensive replacements late in the game).

I still like our positioning in the standings. We will have a chance in the divisoin, but it will come down to whether or not we can beat the Rangers head to head. Wild card has a lot of teams, but I still think it's a 2-man race between us and whoever the odd-man out of the AL East is (most likely Baltimore). KC is a team to keep an eye on, just won their 8th in a row. Never sleep on the defending World Champs.

Seattle had a 96.9% win probability before Martin dropped that ball. It's a shame, had Seattle won this game they would have been 11 games over .500 for the first time all year. Would have help put the nightmarish month of June in the rearview mirror.

I have come to conclusion that Aoki's performance out in left field today was the worst performance by an outfielder I can remember in an MLB game. The reason cannot be because of bad hand eye coordination because Aoki is a decent hitter who just happens to be really hot this month. The reason is because of lack of effort, drive, and instinct. Simply put, Aoki is a beta male.

Watching Servais' press conference, his body language was very anti-Aoki. Said "everyone agrees that ball should have been caught" in the 9th inning. Don't expect to see Aoki out there late in games anymore.

Aoki's defense and base running leave much to be desired. But that was an all around bad inning. I put much of it on Servais.

Servais, Martin, Aoki, Bartender, Ianetta all did terrible that inning for sure. I just think it's bizarre how Aoki just doesnt go after balls the way everyone else does. That was a tough play for O' Malley, but at least it looked like he tried. I don't put any blame on him. It's like Aoki is scared to jump or get his jersey dirty.

Tough loss but big picture is that we won the series and are only 1 game behind. Yankees next who lost to the Angels today. Just keep getting the series wins, the AL east will beat each other up and we need to beat our al west rivals when the time comes

That was tough to take, TBS. What's important is how they bounce back tomorrow. Important series with the Yankees.
