MM needs time. 8 games isn’t be early enough to determine how this staff is going to work out.

With that said, it’s the manner in which they lost to me. They looked in complete disarray. Playing soft…out of synch…giving up yards instead of attacking the ball…the jabbering back and forth…

It’s indicative of a ball club that isn’t buying into what’s being ‘sold’. It wasn’t just poor play by player XxxX. It wasn’t just poor play by the O-line (which imo, is the WORST in the league). It was an overall, poor collective effort that included the offensive play calling.

That is what has me worried…

I’m not trying to pass judgement and call the hiring of ‘new to their positions’ coaches and coordinators a failure yet but, that was an ugly loss that pointed to more than just the talent on the roster.

**Edit** my bad…

In what world was Earl Thomas flipping off our coach ever a good commentary on the health of our program? That's a pretty bad example.
Quite contrary. That's actually a good example and you misread what he was saying because your mind isn't opened.

We could have another 15 losses in the next 2 years and I will still NEVER MISS PC for a single second. THREE playoff wins in NINE years was a FAILURE and he was NEVER going to do any better. I'll take a DOWN regular season or to to rid ourself of the lightweights of JS and Geno and rebuild this team so at some future date we will have a shot at a Super Bowl.

Yeah we should have kept the guy fielding teams worse than the year before for the past 7 years.

I think JS is the one that needs to prove himself. MM is learning it’s not easy.

Yeah John might have to be the next guy to throw out. We have to just keep chippin away at trash until we find what works.

Watch the attacking the poster stuff. Any more of what was happening in this thread with it and there will be vacations. No need to act like the Seahawks did on the sidelines just before the half.
What happened on the sidelines just before halftime?

We're rebuilding a team. it's that simple. Anyone who thinks they aren't, isn't paying attention. There will be a mass exodus of players next year. Watch.
How are we going to continue this rebuilt with our cap situation next year? Lots of guys won't be back I feel but which ones?

We are just not that good.

Lost four out of the last five games played

As the season progresses I do see the defense getting better as they learn the system and play more as a group instead of a bunch of individuals.

I have no hope for the offensive line

Two brothers getting in each other's face yelling and pointing fingers at each other, which everyone saw. But what they didn't see was those same two brothers getting together with bonding confirmation before they went to the locker room.

Unfortunately, not many are interested in that part. Shoot, I saw DK trying to calm Geno while he's freaking out on the sidelines.
Also, something that'll likely get glossed over. Since, of course, DK is such a HUUUUGE problem to this team. Insert eye roll here.......

I don't like seeing our guys going at it, but damn, this is football. It doesn't mean that Coach Mike has "lost the team"
The LOB guys got in each other's faces all the time, they were praised for it and excuses were made. And yes, they produced, so that certainly makes it easier to excuse it. Players get pi***d, shoot, I'd be madder if they just sat on the sidelines moping.

Ok, got it. People can trash the team, laugh at the team, and laugh at people who support the team. But, people can't come back at that. Pretty typical for the PNW. Soft.
Actually, I was talking about both sides of the pettiness.

Well...I can remember that it happened with Wagner in a game a long time ago... but mostly it happened in practice and in the locker room...it was Carroll thing... being who you are and being accountable.

LTH
I would say a lot of the issues we are seeing are late Carroll era holdovers (both culture and financial). I think quite a few more players are going to have to go out the door before we can see if MM has a chance of being successful. Don't know if he will get that chance, but they gave Carroll a decade of doing the same bullshit so I would like to see them give MM a couple of years to flush that bullshit down the toilet.

I am concerned that's 2 DC's/head coaches were we've been ran all over. It makes me think it's not a scheme issue but a talent issue. Same with o-line

I think expectations were high this year because we went 9-8 the last two years, so we thought with a new coach and a slightly better roster that we could be better. That's what is fueling the anxiety.

We won't know what we have with Macdonald for a couple of years, at least. Let's not be like the Jets or Carolina and fire coaches every year or two. I know we're all looking for signs and trying to figure out if it's a good or bad sign, but right now, it's just trying to read tea leaves.

What's going on now is a Rorschach test. If you're like me, everything seems like a bad sign, just because I'm a pessimist. But it's too early to tell. How you feel now is just a function of your personality.
