What's the logic for the A-Rod and RW comparison? I get that it's one Seattle star player saying they want to be here then leaving both times. However, one guy set the M's back and the other fetched picks we don't win the Superbowl this year without. Just seems like saying two movies are the same when they start with some similarities but everything else is different.

I don't understand the "need to wait" option. He already announced he's retiring.
The OP probably should have worded it differently, but the way I took it was returning to Seattle to raise the 12th man flag or participating in other team activities. He needs to let time heal the wounds he caused.

It's about the me over team attitude, it's the biggest comp.

Yes, but wait.. He left this team in an extremely awkward way and trying to have John & Pete fired showed how unhinged he was when traded..
I didn't follow that story closely. Was it just a rumor or did Pete and/or John confirm it? Otherwise, it was just a rumor.

And even if he did try to get Pete fired, he was right. It wasn't loyal to Pete but it was loyal to the team and the 12's. Pete needed to go. Schotty should have taken the HC job. History has shown firing Schotty and keeping Pete was a mistake, short term. It all worked out in the end when we got Mac, but that is 20/20 hind luck.

I don’t mind the one-day retirement contract. Might offer some closure. I understand why some others do, though.

My first thought was that if a decent team lost their QB midseason and got on the phone to Russ, he’d be out of the tv studio in a heartbeat.

Which would make the one-day contract seem a bit silly.

For me, it wasn't just how he left here that turned me off. His behavior once arriving in Denver, ie insisting on his own office, his personal trainers having exclusive access to team facilities, his nearly complete control over the offense, those types of things affected my opinion of him.

That wasn't Wison's call. He was an employee.
