Should Doug Baldwin stay on the outside?

6 rec 75 yds 1TD. He said he was pretty nervous at the beginning of the game (may explain his 2 early drops) since he's been a slot receiver since he's been here and he's getting a shot on the outside which is where he wants to be.

Rice had 15 recs in 8 games on the outside. Baldwin got 6 recs in his first this year. I say put him on the outside, whether he wants to or not.

Given the injuries at WR, it seems like he should for most plays. Harvin can continue at slot where he's most comfortable, and where his skills can be used best.

That catch on the sidelines was his 3rd this season in that 'super clutch grab at a critical time tiptoe-style'.
Plus, the game tying touchdown; he made it look easy!
All game he just tore 'em up with YAC. And he gots Big Giant Brass Ones too; i.e. unafraid to go over the middle like Rice in his fragility, appeared to be getting to be lately.

Wow, what a newfound dimension it added to the offense today.

In my psychic foresight crystal ball, I see Baldwin, Harvin, & Tate being the most dynamic trio in the entire NFL...
FOR MANY MANY YEARS TO COME!

+If he gets 9 grabs at the Z-receiver position in ATL, he will equal Sidney's season output in only two games! ...&the way he is playing, at the very most it will take him 3!

Well, I don't know what happened to the "other Willson" this game, but Zach had a decent game. No one seems to be crediting him for that.

absolutely, considering Harvin should be returning soon he'd get more snaps out there, and he needs to be on the field

He mentioned it quite a few times in his rookie season, that he wants to be the greatest ever and not just "a really good slot receiver", and to do that he wants to play everywhere.

People say the only reason he can't play on the outside is his size and speed. Yet he gets open time after time after time and makes clutch catches time after time after time.

With Rice out, when Harvin returns I'd rather see Harvin play the slot with Baldwin and Tate on the outside than other other combo

In three Wr sets play him outside, In four Wr sets move him back inside. I was glad too see him play well today, I was starting to get down on him for not being the most consistent at the position. Hopefully he can become that guy he was during his rookie year.

I happen to have a little inside knowledge on Doug (I work with a very close relative) and can confirm that he has always wanted to play on the outside.

A rotation of Tate, Kearse, Baldwin/Lockette on the outside with Harvin/Baldwin in the slot should be enough to do some damage the rest of the season...
