Seahawks signed TE Michael Palmer.Palmer, 25, spent five days on the Giants' roster in May, but was later waived. He's appeared in 43 games for the Falcons over the last three seasons, mainly as a blocking tight end. Palmer will compete for a roster spot. Jul 23 - 2:07 PM
As per Rotoworld.

Well at least he has game experience. But I question anyone that young that was already making next to nil and another team cutting him. Still, TE is a position of need right now in the depth department.

Willson is more of a pass catcher so it makes sense to have a guy for blocking as a backup.

Lets see what he can do. Although, even with his experience in the league, I think he still is a long shot to make the final 53.

We are a bit thin here. Need more bodies, at least in camp. No harm in giving the kid a look-see.

I like this signing. I could see this guy developing on a team like Seattle. Of course I would love to see Fells and others rise to the occasion and flourish. But, I liked Michael Palmer at Clemson and wouldn't have minded seeing the Hawks draft him a few years back. I thought he would have done well with Atlanta, but having Tony Gonzalez ahead of him obviously limits time on the field. Not sure why the Giants cut him, but they have 6 TE's on their roster now. So, maybe they wanted to give the reps and looks to the younger guys they picked up. It would be sort of satisfying to see a player 2 other NFC contenders cut... end up being a contributor (hopefully more) with the already loaded Seahawks!
