I was jokingIf you feel like assuming the worst. Sure.
I was jokingIf you feel like assuming the worst. Sure.
I'm having a difficult time seeing "he's not good enough to get poached by other teams" as some big selling point.2) Kubiak probably is not on the verge of head coaching opportunities this season or next. It is likely he stays with the team for multiple years. Again, this appeals to Mac because he wants to build and not reinvent things year to year.
Oh! Oh! I know this one! No.Are Hawks fans EVER happy or satisfied??
I don't think it's fair to criticize him for moving around a bit. First of all, he's only 37. and if you look closely at the moves, they all make sense. And he's had a fair amount of bad luck. He became the Vikings' OC in 2021, but then Mike Zimmer got fired and he had to move on. Then he was on Nathaniel Hackett's ill-fated Broncos team with Russell Wilson. Kubiak was the guy who became the play-caller after Hackett was forced to relinquish those duties. Then, of course, Hackett was fired. The way I read the summary of his history on .com is that he has been short term everywhere he has been. He's enjoyed some success, to be sure, but for some reason that didn't ever seem to translate into a long run at one location. Is that a good thing?
I think we were forced to settle.
I only hit dingers!Nice, safe hire. I suppose you don't always need to swing for the fences.
That guy rocks. You know, that one guy? Good dude.Oh! Oh! I know this one! No.
I know you were. So was I. It's all entertainment. Looking forward to seeing what he does.I was joking
Was going to say much the same as this.I don't think it's fair to criticize him for moving around a bit. First of all, he's only 37. and if you look closely at the moves, they all make sense. After leaving Denver, Kyle Shanahan hired Kubiak to be passing game coordinator, and that's a pretty good endorsement right there. After Purdy had a great year in 2023, Kubiak got hired to be OC in New Orleans, but once again, the head coach was fired. So he had three years where the head coach got the ax through no fault of his own.
It's hard to evaluate Kubiak's performance this past season with all the injuries, including Carr's. The Saints also lost their star center to injuries early in the season and the O-line had a rookie at left tackle. In 2021, Kubiak's other season as OC, the Vikings were middle of the road even though they had Cousins, Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson. But it was his first year, and he would have had a chance to build on that if Zimmer hadn't been fired.
And fishingCould have been an offer of some stale Rainier beer and peanuts as well.![]()
Was he their OC?I can’t wait to see what he can do!
Honest question though..
Why does a guy make a lateral transfer like this? Did we more than likely offer way more money? I could see if we had a young, talented QB who could propel Klint to a HC job in short order but we obviously don’t.
He was not my top choice, wrong, not my choice at all, and I listed my reasons before his interview:Was he really their top choice? I don't know. Just asking...
If he was doing a great job, why not stick around and see if they would consider you for HC? Unless he wasn't...The Saints fired their HC during the season as a result he was looking for a new opportunity since the new coach, whomever it is, may want to bring in his own staff.
You think the German boards are bad? You should hang around Italian ones!Guys come on…
We may have declined the other candidates a week ago because we agreed with Kubiak but he had to set up his team first. Maybe Fraley just accepted the small promotion in Detroit as a result? Why does it always have to be the negative and bad version for our FO?
Im starting to feel like im in a German soccer board
The Head Coach was fired. Not sure what's troubling?I hope this is a good hire and am willing to give him time to get his system up and running, but this is a bit concerning:

I get that there were a lot of injuries but the fact that he left after one year is troubling.
The 2 finalists for HC in New Orleans are Mike McCarthy and Kellen Moore. Both would call their own offensive plays. Plus that will take 2 more weeks for a hire if it's Moore so maybe he doesn't want to wait around like Arthur Smith did last seasonIf he was doing a great job, why not stick around and see if they would consider you for HC? Unless he wasn't...
Never said that. Said he would give us the same overall result as Geno. Decent enough play to get our hopes up, then throw a red zone pick that makes no sense. I dont want either of them. They can get a cheaper qb to piss me off while a draft pick learnsYou actually think Derek Carr is better than Geno? That is flippin hilarious.
You have a point there!!! But my gosh, you and I will be called haters as our new OC just entered his honeymoon period on .NETIf he was doing a great job, why not stick around and see if they would consider you for HC? Unless he wasn't...
