He was the safest choice of the guys that we seemed to be seriously considering. But in the end, it won't matter if John doesn't start drafting interior of lineman earlier and stop picking up scrubs in free agency on one year deals.

This. I don't care who the OC is. If we keep rolling out one of the worst OLines in the league, it's going to be an uphill battle.

I don't understand why people were so impatient about this. How would it have mattered or made any difference if this was announced a week ago? It's still January. The conference championship games aren't even over yet.
