Respect your opinion, just that I haven't felt negativity in THIS thread. Read lots of interesting opinions and took in some external resources people shared.
The same people come into these threads looking for it. No surprise that they always find it. When it's not there, they bait it with things like "wow, this is really going to be bad for all the negative fans who aren't ever happy with anything".

I have no problem with people feeling negatively about the hire, but I am shocked at just how little talk there is about his scheme, playcalling tendencies, personnel preferences, and other football details in this thread.

How can anyone have a strong opinion one way or the other without really digging in and figuring out WHY they feel the way they do?

Just more proof that most fans these days are confirming priors rather than contributing to evidence and logic based discourse.

If you feel negatively about the Kubiak hire, then you should be able to back it up (and some of those who are lukewarm have backed it up in this thread, some haven't). If they back it up, then.. what's the issue?

I am one of those negative dudes, and my eyes aren't trained enough to analyze schemes, play callings etc. So I judged young Kubiak by his employment records:

We are likely to hire a candidate "but", and I am ok with it, just keep remind myself to control my expectations. A short story of candidate "but".

Kubiak, aka candidate "but", may be a safe pick as he checked all the boxes, however, one can put a "BUT" next to all the boxes.

Minnesota Vikings
In 2013, Kubiak was hired by the Minnesota Vikings as an offensive quality control and assistant wide receivers coach under offensive coordinators Bill Musgrave (2013) and Norv Turner (2014).

BUT, no NFL team offered jobs to him post-Vikings, so he downgraded to:

Kansas
In 2015, Kubiak accepted a position at the University of Kansas to coach the wide receivers

BUT, Daddy Dear came to the rescue:

Denver Broncos
On February 22, 2016, Kubiak was hired by the Denver Broncos as an offensive assistant while his father, Gary Kubiak, was the head coach of the team. During the 2017 season, Kubiak assumed responsibilities as the primary quarterbacks coach for the final six weeks of the regular season after Bill Musgrave was promoted to offensive coordinator.

BUT, after 3 years as QB coach, no OC offers, so

Minnesota Vikings (second stint)
On January 14, 2019, Kubiak was hired by the Minnesota Vikings as their quarterbacks coach under offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski and head coach Mike Zimmer.

BUT, Daddy helped again:

On February 8, 2021, Kubiak was promoted to offensive coordinator, replacing his father, Gary Kubiak, following his retirement

BUT, after OC for Vikings, he wasn't kept by Viking, so he was downgraded to:

On February 2, 2022, Kubiak was re-hired by the Denver Broncos as their passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach under offensive coordinator Justin Outten and head coach Nathaniel Hackett.[10] Following offensive struggles to start the 2022 season, Hackett relinquished play calling duties to Kubiak on November 20

BUT, he didn't save Russell Wilson as Broncos moved on to Payton and he downgraded again:

San Francisco 49ers
On March 23, 2023, Kubiak was hired by the San Francisco 49ers as their passing game coordinator.

Finally, OC offer from:

New Orleans Saints
On February 14, 2024, the New Orleans Saints hired Kubiak to be their new offensive coordinator for the 2024 season, replacing the Saints' longtime offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr.

Now, he is looking again!

Klint ain't considered by team executives as a boy wonder like McVay or Mike Shanahan. He floated around in the league for a long time and with plenty of help from family connections, he finally made it to OC. A long and winding road.

BUT, he has previous experience calling plays in the NFL. I'll take that over what we saw this past season.

Kubiak will out geno under center more, use play action, is perfect for Walker with his running scheme etc.

He also has a history of maximizing unique skill sets for guys. Shaheed became a monster vertical threat, Hill was used all over the field. He was creative with Kamara. This I think is really good news for DK and I think he will do a much better job getting him back to his 13 touchdown 1300 yards kind of year.

Wouldn’t shock me the running game is light years better too.

This old dude didn't like Klint, didn't like Geno, and didn't like Macdonald.

I am quite convinced that Geno will be another team next season, he won't be our problem. Howell on the other hand, will benefit from Kubiak's coaching.

Fire Klint! Ahead of time.

1. Geno on another team, could def. see it.
2. NO, Howell is not the answer. Please show me who is saying he should be the starter.
3. Play Some Skynyrd!

If not Howell, then maybe trade for Milton, or JJ, or whatever JS thinks best. I don't care. Just get us out of Pointless Purgatory. I would rather watch a 4-5 win season with a young prospect knowing we're building a solid foundation for the future than what we are doing now. Starting a young qb gives you options.200

Kubiak is a fine hire and I think people are just over thinking it. The goal for this off season is to add beef to the interior OL and augment the talent and depth on both sides of the ball. The Hawks have some of the best skill positions in the NFL. The problem is the trenches are still far behind teams like the Eagles, Bucs, Rams, Lions, Vikings, etc.
