Should have extended Shaheed before the end of the season. 🤔

I can get behind Smith:
Coaching Style & Reputation

Smith is best known for his run-first, physical offensive philosophy. He’s credited with developing strong ground games across multiple teams:

• Produced seven different 1,000-yard-from-scrimmage running backs in recent years (Derrick Henry, Cordarrelle Patterson, Tyler Allgeier, Bijan Robinson, Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren, etc.).

• Often emphasizes balanced attacks, tight end usage, and play-action passing.

• His schemes have ranked highly in rushing yards at times but have drawn criticism for being predictable or underperforming in passing situations.

I am sure John is already looking at the tree and seeing what we can do, one thing he has shown is he has back up to back up plans, that and the news about Kubiak being a front runner for a HC gig has been circling the wagons for months. Also big names from the past usually flop more then fly since their offenses have been figured out, McVay, and Kubiak has shown he re invents what he runs based on personnel, not exactly his system. Thats what I hope we look for again, that and a O line coach that is good and will stay here longer then a New York Minute.

Durde seems replaceable though, no? It's Macdonald's defense.
This.

Think MM and JS don’t have a plan? Remember the often times crazy shit on O earlier in the season?

That was MM righting the ship. Best believe JS and MM have things figured out.

The ONLY coach we can’t afford to lose is MM and I think he’s staying awhile.

Next distraction please…

Kubiak did some really nice things as our OC, but he isn't the reason we are where we are

There are other "Kubiak's" out there.

FFS many wanted his head in the early part of the season
Preach brotha!!

Here’s a name I would look into. Kupp would have some good insight into.

Nate Scheelhaase — Rams pass game coordinator; one of the hottest young rising candidates this cycle, often cited for creative play-calling.
The Rams OC just got the Cards gig, so I imagine he's just going to take that over.

John Schnieder is like the character Varys from "Game of Thrones". He has little birdies everywhere. His people connections will ensure competent replacements.

I think that the raiders will be lucky to have Clint. If they truly allow him to establish his way of doing things then they will improve year over year.
One of the things that I have been most excited about Clint being our OC is that he brought a team of dudes that know his system, believe in it and teach it well.
I will be sad that we likely lose some other coaches who are committed to Clint, but I respect that he has built that for himself.

I felt like klints best attribute was doing what Mike told him to do

At this point, I like our chances in retaining Shaheed than I do in retaining anyone from Kubiak's staff who almost certainly will follow him like a pack of loyal dogs.

We have no idea if Shaheed's allegiance is to Kubiak. He just kinda showed up to his first team and then Shaheed got traded to his next team.

Nope but if Benton and Durde go with him.. that IMO hurts Seattle more than a few are aware imo. I’d be willing to say that’ll be a big setback and the media would love to see Seattle fulfill what they want and that’s 500 or below seasons
Why would Durte go with him? Leave a SB team for a dog water organization? And plus Mac is why he’s hear, not Kubiak

He’s said he wants to be here. If he was wanting to be with Kubiak, I doubt he would have ever said this is where he wants to stay.

They always say that. Russ said it while simultaneously forcing his way out through back channels.

It's not like we're going to franchise him, so I guess we'll find out, but my point was that being comfortable with Kubiak doesn't necessarily mean he's going to follow him. And that's if he even is comfortable with Kubiak, it's not like Shaheed has been used extensively in the passing game.
