Watching the All-22, it looks like the pick is an O-Line issue, not giving Geno enough time to hang in and see DK turn it up and hit him for the deep TD.Yeah, unless the ball is underthrown, it shouldn't have been a pick. DK dropping deeper means the CB can jump the route when he wasn't exactly on top of him.
Either DK ran a bad route, or the ball was underthrown and DK didn't seem to "slow up".
I don't solely blame DK -- but I also don't solely blame Geno on that one. Unlike his first pick.
DK: Holy schitt, there's no safety help, if I turn it up I have this guy beat for a TD if Geno sees it!
GENO: I'm out of time, there's DK on the crosser, gotta rip it now, WTF DK, why did you cut the route up, ya gotta know there's NF Way I have time to see it and make the throw??!!
GRUBB: Aaaaarrrrggghhh!
So, arguably, this is two games in a row that DK, NOT Geno, has made game-losing plays. Last week, fumble in the red zone vs. Giants, this week, crossing up Geno leading to a game-losing pick instead of a go-ahead TD that DK was thinking. If DK instead makes the "ordinary" play, holds onto the ball, and the Hawks score a TD vs the Giants, that's probably a win, and again, if he makes the "ordinary" play, it's a completion on the crosser instead of a pick, and maybe Hawks score a TD and take the lead on that drive. It's rough cookies for Geno to take the blame when Hawks could easily be 5-1. Geno also wasn't on the Special Teams unit that got the tying FG blocked vs the Giants. However, vs the Giants, Geno somehow just missed JSN on a throw that could've been a first down in the Red Zone and resulted in a TD to take the lead.
