He was on the IL "day to day" according to ESPN but that could still mean he misses one game which he did.

I believe the minimum for IL is 5 days. Probably, Jerry and Servais discussed putting him on IL and decided against it. Just an over rambunctious reporter trying to break a story and getting it wrong.
