Sure, the catch and roll by Kearse were great, but how about the fact that we actually completed a back-shoulder fade! And it looked easy! Russell didn't have to run four circles around the linemen or anything!
Yes! I almost forgot about that back shoulder pass. Can someone tell me why we don't try more of these? Our WRs are not the best at getting separation, so you think it would be the perfect play for them. Great QBs like Aaron Rodgers kill DBs with these passes game after game. It just seems so hard to stop on the defensive side, and it draws a lot of PI calls (something that has not been going our way).

The thing I like about Kearse is that he's getting plenty of playing time this year behind the "big three" (soon to be four when Harvin comes back). So next year when some decisions about Rice (8.5 mill), Tate (FA) and Baldwin (RFA) need to be made, Kearse will be more than ready to take up the roll of one of those guys (lets face it, all three aren't going to be here next year unless they take less money). Either way, Kearse is developing nicely this season and he is signed through next year and a RFA the year after.

I am more than happy getting rid of Rice. Yes, despite his TD last night and his nice scoop to convert a third down, I'm just not seeing 8.5million reasons to keep him around. Between his health and lack of ability to gain separation deep, it's just been a bit of a disappointment. Wish him the best of luck, but when it comes down to bang for your buck, I'd rather have Kearse, Baldwin and Tate (of our current starters).

I still think we're going to see a restructure attempt first. Rice has to know he's not going to get that much by any other team, so it could be in his best interest to restructure.

So we can put it to rest, I just rewatched the play on Game Rewind. Kellen Davis gets two hands on the ball and shoves it out along with Kearse getting one hand on the ball with the obvious same intention of pushing it out. Great heads up on both their parts.

Exactly. I looked like Davis was doing a chest pass like in basketball.

I also had no idea how big Davis was. If he can actually get separation, I can see why the FO is enamored with him. He's really big...watch the replay after the TD. He barely runs up to the goalpost and reverse dunks the ball....EASILY. It was one of the easiest dunks I've seen outside of Gonzalez and Graham.

I have no idea about Davis as a player; I know he had some real rough spots earlier, but looking at him: how big he is, how tall he is, and how athletic he looked (on that catch he had really soft hands...Wilson threw a bullet and a lot of guys let that get to their body), well if he is a younger player, he can improve and maybe we've found something there.

And no, it's not a knee jerk reaction. I was actually calling for Fells earlier in the year.

As for Kearse, he just keep continuing to improve. He's definately going to make the team next year.

Remember the Titans game? We punted down to about the 1-2 yard line. One of our guys tried to catch the ball and then fell into the endzone while trying to get rid of the ball and he stepped on the line. This was not the second punt that landed on the endzone line but before that one.

PC and other coaches surely talked to them about that and said - next time get the ball OUT OF BOUNDS and don't catch it.

That was coaching and smart play by the players

The presence of mind to get up and out of bounds so quickly was impressive.
He's playing some heads up football, and showing the moves of a veteran baller.
