That's kind of the OCs job. He needs to make things happen with what he has. You could argue that there are OCs in the league right now who are doing more with less.
Doesn't change the fact that the players still need to execute. And no, I am NOT happy with the play calling at all.
Players are still getting owned at the line. The OC can't block. The OC didn't miss a wide open Fant in the end zone. The OC doesn't throw dumb picks in the Red Zone.
It's a combo of both players AND Grubb.

If it was me calling the shots regarding the offence, I think I would start by replacing Huff before Grubb.
It's easy to run an O line when you have the players that are pretty well all-pro like they have in Detroit.
He may have done alright in the college game, I don't know, as I didn't follow the college games enough, but this is the bigs now and I don't see much of an improvement from this line and I believe lots of that falls on him.
Replace him and, assuming it's the same line, there are no improvements, then YES...Grubb would be the next to go.

There is room to question causation there though, in the base passing game you see the tackles taking the edges into deep water around the sides and then just letting them tread water behind Geno. If we get this figured out, with Geno's pocket feel and textbook feet, we could be deadly with the skill people we have. Just need a CONSISTENT threat on the ground, ie what are our 2 bread/butter plays there? That's where we are imo. I think when working Grubb makes good tackles great.
