The problem is that Geno makes mistakes you don't expect a 12 year vet to make. Furthermore, he does so consistently.
He didng have that tendency last year or the year before. It would make sense to consider why its happening this year the way it is.
An OC can call a hame ro help his qb or to hurt him.
To decide which Grubb is for Geno, you need look no further than how he handled playcall balance and hung the online out yo dry by placing them in pass-pro 75% of the time at times with little to mask that Geno wohkd just be dropping back again and again and again.
Or how he consistently calls long developing plays on short distance downs with zero outlet, inviting sacks.
Or how our redzone offense is suspect to say the least.
I seriously do not understand how it isnt more obvious that there is a direct correlation between the ineffectiveness of Grubb's plans and in some cases play designs and the performance of the QB.
Geno is pushing too hard in a system where defenses know whats coming. Wanna call him stubborn for doing so? Sure. But a qb who his stubbornly teying to make lemonade from lemons and forcing errors is FAR DIFFERENT than one who cabt avoid them or isnt smart enough to do so.
Josh allen threw an INT in all but 3 games last year finishing with 18. His OC was proven far more effective than Grubb.. his offense was, really. Why the inordinately high number? Because he was pushing too much, trying to force results that werent there out of frustration.
If an all world talent like Josh Allen can throw INTs like he's getting paid to do so in a system far better than ours, doesnt it make sense that Geno coulf fall into the same trap?
