If I am at the 1st game of this upcoming season, I will applaud Wilson to begin the game. Mostly out of thanks for the great QB play, 4th quarter comebacks, his role in the XLVIII Championship, and the excitement he brought this franchise for 10 years. I will also cheer every time he is sacked, intercepted, missed completions etc. Why will I approach his Seahawks legacy this way? I'm a Seahawks fan first and foremost. I'm thankful for what he did in the past and I'm thankful for the bounty received that will help build this franchise for the future. The guy is a human being. He gave the Seahawks the best QB play he was capable of and did it for the better part of 10 years. He is far and away the best QB this franchise has ever had. Sure, in hindsight we know he's all about Russ and his brand. But then why shouldn't he? I give my best in my job. So does he. He wanted a change in his employment for whatever reason he felt was necessary for he and his family. Players are not fans. Football is their job.
For a 3rd round pick in 2012, we saw 2 Super Bowls with 1 win, lots of regular season wins, and a whole lot of exciting play. We also will reap the benefit of 3 new veteran players along with 2 1's, and 2 2's. Seahawks fans got the best years of Russell Wilsons career and now we get to see what that legacy and success from the bounty of trading #3 brings in terms of future success.
So I will cheer him in thanks and then every time his play helps the Seahawks. Its going to be fun.
As far as Bobby goes, its much the same. I'll cheer him at the beginning as a way of saying thank you and then cheer every missed tackle or opportunity missed by this new Ram.
Players come and go. The team is forever!
