Do that PLUS overpay the man.Make him assistant HC
Cap isn't affected by any amount of money so DO IT, JS! (and Jodie)

Not the same coaching pieces, but this year Detroit showed us what happens when you choose poorly.John and Mike have been pulling a lot of rabbits out of hats lately. One wonders if finding Kubiak's replacement is when their luck runs out.
Jody needs to just roll out the truck and offer the man Chip Kelly money.
Just give it to Peetz and hire a solid run game coordinator.
Kubiak gonna get paid, have high picks acrossed the board and cap space.

History under Mark Davis, moreso given the current strength of the AFC West, would suggest two seasons, three tops;I.e-he doesn’t have a John Gruden resume.I hope he enjoys several losing/mediocre seasons after jumping ship on a dynasty in the making

The “Schematic Architect” Option: Is Jake Peetz The Next Detroit Lions OC?
His work with Nacua and Jaxon Smith-Njigba (in Seattle) proves he knows how to manufacture touches for playmakers—a crucial skillwww.detroitfootballjournal.com
"Peetz is a rare schematic hybrid. He speaks the native language of the Sean McVay offense (having worked as his Pass Game Specialist in LA) but also possesses the “Spread” DNA of Joe Brady (whom he worked alongside in Carolina and replaced as OC at LSU). He is not just a “West Coast” coach; he is an architect who blends complex pro-style protections with the explosive, receiver-friendly concepts of the modern college game."
"Protection Wizardry: Having coached in the SEC and under McVay, Peetz is known for his detailed understanding of protection schemes. He knows how to keep a pocket passer like Goff clean."
I don't know. We haven't been 'fine' on offense before this year in quite some time. Grubb killed this offense last year. Waldron was a lot better and he can't find an OC job anywhere else in the league and was run out of Chicago. Look at their offense now.I genuinely don't care about next year. They'll find a solution and be fine. I just want to minimize distractions as much as possible this week and make sure Kubiak is as focused as possible at calling a perfect game to go out on. I don't want to see another DeBoer situation. I trust Macdonald is a preparation perfectionist and will be on it.

Having somebody good... A good tactician, someone good at scheme design and putting Sam and this run game in a position to succeed... That doesn't just happen.
Agree, only issue is we will be a month later this year and the pickings will be even slimmer.I guess my "offseason optimism" (a week early on that) is that Macdonald was quick to pull the plug on Grubb and found a solution. I think he goes into that next search learning from both the failure and the success. That's my hope any way.
