I feel a little better now. I walked downstairs at the 2-minute warning, and posted the above. I ate a hot dog, drank a beer, then watched the touchdown on the t.v. screen in the food area. Maybe it wasn't justified, but yeah, I was disgusted. You feel what you feel, and I know football well enough to make no apologies for thinking we were shooting ourselves in the foot. Here's how f'd up my attitude was - I ordered a beer at $14, tried to type in a 10% tip, but instead tipped $10. I then bought a $16 sausage that came with a bun only - all else was extra. I talked with another fan, who was thinking exactly as I was, for about 15 minutes, then I calmed down and walked back upstairs.

I'm reading in the paper that this was a nail-biter. I never saw it that way. After that late 1st half touchdown, we controlled the game until ... Ric Woolen. I've been a Woolen apologist all season, but that's done. When you put your need to taunt or otherwise behave like D.K. Metcalfe, over your team, you need to be sent to Pittsburgh or Dallas. The only other critical moments were when McVay went for it on fourth. We thought at the time, that he should have kicked the field goal and relied on his defense. But going for it, he had to make it.

The Rams match up against us better than any other NFL team, and we've passed them up. Stafford is amazing and McVay is amazing. They are the second best team in the NFL.

Absolutely. I had on two pair of socks, and a few hand warmers to stick in my shoes if necessary. It ended up being very comfortable. We are watching it on t.v. now. Realizing how great Walker started, and how they shut him down effectively.

I think we have to acknowledge that momentary frustrations or occasional suboptimal play outcomes or even suboptimal games aren't a great way to judge coaches.

Over the year, Kubiak has shown that he can call great games, install a new scheme and have it work well year 1, and get his stars in a position to succeed. He can also adapt to injury.

Not every playcall will work. Not every game will be a blowout.

As an OC, he is the class of the league currently regardless. Great coaches don't ensure that a team will never lose, never punt, etc. They just position their guys to be successful and keep the unit doing their collective duty.

Offensive coordinators in particular get judged incredibly harshly by observers. He's done as good of a job as any I've ever seen year 1.

I get your frustration at others not agreeing with your assessments and thoughts about what we should or should not be saying in a discussion forum thread. For example, to me (and a lot of others, obviously, or you wouldn't be complaining about our opinions) Kubiak isn't the class of the league as an OC - he's good, he's improving and he has worked out well this season. I hope he stays - firing him would be ridiculous. I don't know if he's the best I've seen in their first season with a particular team. I'm a little surprised at some of the red zone calls he's made in the past (much better yesterday), given that it's his third year as an OC, but he is working with a new HC and a new QB, so I expect to see even better out of him next year. Maybe he'll really be the best in the league - I could see it.

I have said nothing about what you should or should not say, nor have I expressed my frustration about any of the things that have been said, nor am I complaining about opinions here. Just offering my own.

If the comment you're referring to is about how offensive coordinators get judged harshly, that was more of an observation of how most teams want their coordinators outright fired year in and year out rather than Kubiak specifically.

Bevell won a SB with the Seahawks as an OC. Kubiak on his worst day > Bevell. I hope Kubiak stays with the Seahawks.

Well cross the Steelers off the list, although it's unlikely they would have gone the Kubiak direction

The Bills and Raiders do worry me, although I think the Bills have their eyes on other candidates.

The Raiders have the #1 pick (Mendoza), Jeanty, Bowers and Crosby (for now)

I can't see Kubiak wanting to go to any other teams this year besides the Bills or possibly the Raiders
