He's going to get interest given we have 14 wins, turned around the offense and the oline is vastly improved.

Can you imagine he had got the running game going all season like he has the last few (which is possible with Bijan).

I know these guys have to jump on opportunities, and I can't imagine being in a position to have to think about a job that would be a pay raise of millions. But these "hot coaching candidates" need to look really hard at what organizations are interested in them. Like, don't ever go to the Browns or Jets. The Falcons job is better than those but is not a top tier organization IMO.

Smart money would be to wait a year or 2 and if the Seahawks repeat this years success (which is possible given the age of the squad) you get opportunities at a more stable organization. The flip side is that the Falcons owner tends to throw lots of cash at things as he wants a ring before he dies and they have a few good pieces or if we sucked next year he loses that shot.

Yeah, I think it could be shortsighted to accept a job you aren't really ready for, instead of staying in a quality org under a quality head coach and really get your stuff together for a couple of years. Short term payoff vs long term stability.

My opinion....
Kubiak will struggle as HC next year. He had some pretty noticeable struggles and growth as OC this year. Taking on the entire organization is a large change. McDonald could be a great mentor on how to do that, but it probably takes them both another year or 2 to have seen enough and lived through it to translate to a new environment. So, if that's true, does the increased risk of falling overcome the reward of a big raise and a lifetime dream job?

From the Seahawks perspective, Kubiak seems replaceable...to me. He's done much better than Grubb, but he's also had games where he seemed to lose track of the foundation and got caught up in the game flow. ...more early in the season. It seems to me that the Macdonald hire and Kubiak bounce back hire shows the organization can, if needed, land a Coordinator that fits and still make a deep playoff run in year 1.

If Seattle wins the SB, it's reasonable to think a lot of teams will include Kubiak on their candidate list. Interviewing him now is just a timing thing.

That's where I'm at. He's OK. I'm certainly not advocating for replacing him in the offseason if he doesn't take a different job, but I don't think our future outlook is any worse if he's gone.

He has been employed by five teams over the past five years. He's probably gone soon regardless if it's the Falcons.

Teams cannot refuse interview requests of coaches if the interview is for a postition senior to the one they currently hold. They also have to allow interviews in weeks when the team is not prepping for a game that weekend. Technically, teams could ask for interviews in-season on bye weeks. 🤷‍♂️

Unlike others, I would prefer not to change our OC again so soon. I like what I've seen so far and look forward to continuing it next season. The question we have to answer is: Does Klint want to leave? I hope not.

Other than the annoying "cute" from time to time, I'm hoping he sticks around. But I would understand if he took a HC job. That's a big deal.

For a head coaching job? Probably. Atlanta is probably the best situation out of all the openings as well. Atlanta and Arizona in terms of talent

Baltimore Ravens hired Kevin Minter as head coach...

Remaining vacancies
1. Steelers
2. Bills
3. Raiders
4. Cardinals
5. Browns

Not many good jobs left, I wonder if Kubiak stays in Seattle for another year 🤔

Fire Kubiak. He's riding off the back of the T1200 Grey Zabel.

I’m at the game. McDonald, Kubiak - get your shit together. You don’t get these opportunities often. I’m disgusted.
