Do We Officially Ride the Cheater Label in 2013?

I love it.

Great teams cheat.

MJ cheated at everything from cards to basketball.

Oregon has made a juggernaut out of it. The SEC has near made a mint out of it.

As Barkley once said "If you ain't cheatin, you ain't tryin."

After years of watching my Huskies slide into the cess pool, "trying to win the right way" - I am excited to root for a team that everyone else will hate because they don't give a cr*p, they only care about winning....not how it happens.

In professional sports, it isn't how you play the game but whether you win or lose that matters.

I'd like to win with some class and a few suspensions isn't going to destroy that. With leaders like Wilson and Red we'll be okay. I just want the adderall issues to be dealt with by the coaching staff. Maybe more than a stern talking to, but handled internally.

Lame...the only people i see talking about this online or in the media is the guys here looking for attention. Very lame....the only reason anyone outside of this forum will ever say aderall seahawks or any version of what has been posted here is because of immature guys here looking for attention, hoping to start some nick name they want to call there own. You ignore this and so will the media. Hell, they have ignored us for years, why would they stop now.

They can say what they want, but the one nagging, overshadowing fact they can't deny is that the face of the franchise (RW) is a Boy Scout. As for the cheap shots, I'm finding them rather entertaining.

Actually, you might have very well sen a game winning TD last year if you were watching all the Seahawk games. Sorry bro...couldn't help myself. :)

Yeah we had a lot of game winning TD's last year... :Dunno:

I think he was trying to be witty and slip Fail Mary into the convo.

Actually no as I have decided that you guys have no doubt had to deal with too many fans of other teams messing with you guys about that play.

I wouldn't say that just because it was decided that Tate caught that ball by a replacement ref means he was on PED's.

Then obviously you're not looking outside this forum. At the moment, if you go read anything Seahawks related on ESPN or NFL.com, you'll see it. Not only that, but it's typically other fan bases stirring the pot for Hawk fans that are offended by it. I don't think anyone here is looking for attention, and a guarantee you that Hawk fans didn't come up with any nicknames. Do your research before making ignorant comments about your own fanbase.

Easy. Just put a booth behind the endzones. Every time a player scores a TD, he goes in and pisses in a cup.

Is Adderall now the 13th man?

In all seriousness, you guys worried there may be a wave of suspensions on the seahawks roster now that it at least appears that Adderall use runs higher in the seahawks locker room. Between Sherman's comments and the suspensions that have already happened, it doesnt look good.

Other teams will call foul because they are scared. Simple as that. They will look for anything to say 'hey, that is the only reason your team is better than ours'. They want players to be suspended, because they need the help (even though they would defend their own guys tooth and nail over the same deal). In reality, it is fringe players being caught for this. Browner was out, we didn't miss a beat, Irvin out, we won't miss a beat. The other players that got caught probably won't even make the team this year.

Guess what I am saying is, the true core of our team is epic and 'clean'. You won't see Earl, Russell, Shawn, etc. get hit with this. But other teams want to lump those guys in and call the whole team 'cheaters'.

AP beasted on HGH last season, but no one was complaining about that. And somehow we are cheaters when a handful of rotational guys take adderall? ok.

Thinking this is a larger issue with our team in general is just ridiculous. We can consider them all guilty until innocent, or trust that the vast majority (including our most talented players) of our team/staff have their heads on right.

This right here is the real issue and the NFL is turning a blind eye towards it or do you think it's normal to return from a destroyed knee in 6 months and still perform at the same level? Next up, RG3.

No one is going to care when the offense blows the doors off the competition this season. Russell Wilson + Percy Harvin and our running game is going to make it extremely tough for us to lose games.

Only issue for me is getting production from the Irvin spot for 4 games and speaking of the impact of rolling with the "cheater" label I don't give a crap about other teams/fans, the Seahawks are in their heads before we even step on the field and hopefully that give us another edge in the competition.

Seems to me the refs in SB XL didn't need adderal to cheat and nobody gave a damn about them.

You know what's being forgotten in all this mess? That we have what's most certainly going to be one of the NFL's elite offenses this year. Just sayin'.

Steelers, Packers, Patriots - what do they have in common? Most hated franchises as well as the winning-est franchises over the last few years. Insults and detractions will come with the territory.

As far as the whole "cheater" label goes - I don't think the use of a banned substance is really all that big of a deal, particularly if a player is caught and suspended. The punishment balances out the advantage that the player had previously -- if not over-correcting it. It's the players that DONT get caught who are the real cheaters. Of course, we'll never know who those are.

I am confused then. News is news, the media is reporting this as is expected. But at 4 sites i went to, not one is making up cute little Seaderall Hawks or similair names for our beloved team like i see a few doing here. I only see that here. Just saying, don't fan the flames, it is bad enough as it is.

Exactly, the only thing any team can say about cheating is reflected on our Defense.

The Seahawks Offense on the other hand as you and many other have said, is going to be one of the best in the NFL. One of the most efficient, one of the most explosive, and definitely with a smash-mouth style that should dominant even the best defense in the NFL.

As for Irvin, I'm not worried... Seahawks can get by with Avril in Clemons role, Bennett in the Irvin/Brock role, one of, perhaps both of Hill/Howard can rise to the challenge in the Hargrove/Jones/Bennett role..

Remember the Seahawks survived with a mediocre pass-rush, and were still one of the best defenses in the League.

The two biggest differences will be the transition from first) Bradley to Quinn who knows how to dial up pressure from all areas of the field plus the Seahawks have so much speed within their linebacker corps, and guys like Winfield, Lane, Thomas, and Chanchellor who could excel in blitzing or rushing the passer. 2ndly) Seahawks will have a vastly improved Nickel defense with the addition of Winfield and the young players gaining needed experience.
