I think there's a difference between laughing off/relishing in the "cheaters" talk and actually applauding the cheating itself. The former is fine, but the latter baffles me.

I haven't seen anyone applaud "cheating".
It certainly seemed like a few people were in the original suspension thread, but I could've been just misinterpreting.

To keep it simple: Does anyone believe the Seahawks are actually doing anything that other teams in the NFL are not?

How come no other teams have as many violations as we do? Do you believe they are masking it better or being tested less?
Likely both.

I bet there are other teams with just as big a problem with PEDs as we have. I'm irritated Hawks are taking PEDs and more irritated that they're taking them when there's apparently this high a risk of getting caught. I can't pretend to know how many players are taking them or what the risk/reward profile is, and neither can anyone here. And those facts are essential to evaluating the ethics and reasonableness of the players' actions.

Plenty of teams have this happen. Their fans are not freaking out though. Odd.

I count 7 Redskins on that list since 2010

as long as we 'cheat' our way to a super bowl victory, i could care less what 'they' say...sh*t happens, it's a sport made up of young men...and youth is prone to make mistakes...hell i made plenty of em, who hasn't?

judge not lest ye be judged haters...he'll do the time, he'll (hopefully) live and learn and come back even more kickass than before...!

2) Sherman definitely needs to shut up. Do you think him calling out the NFL and then gloating that he got away with his act of stupidity is not going to have a negative impact on our team as a whole? He is painting targets on our backs. He made his point, got his 15 mnutes and he'll get his money. Now it's time to give it a rest.

Painting a target on our backs is EXACTLY what I want for the team.

Now there are 13 teams we are playing next year looking at their schedules saying "man, I want to beat the Seahawks so bad this year". They raise their game and that makes us raise our game.

It's better to be hated than irrelevant in this game

I understand your position but you are apparently misunderstanding mine. I don't care about Sherm's ON-field antics and his drive to "get in other players heads". I am good with that. When I said he was painting targets on our backs, I was referring to the league and their minion officials. All things considered, Goodell has been good to us. He's received numerous complaints regarding the uber-physical play of our DBs. To my knowledge, he's allowed us to continue playing that style.

Now enter Sherman who has chosen to rub his victory in the collective noses of the league. Now enter several other instances of PEDs on our team. It's one thing to let clean athletes play a bit aggresive, it's another if it is believed those same players are cheating by using banned substances.

We will know soon enough. Let's see how many times we get called for pass interference this year. Let's see how many times Lynch is penalised for leading with his helmet. Believe me, it makes no sense to taunt the NFL. So yes, I would like for Sherm to tone it down and I would like for our players to stay away from banned substances. I guess I'm just odd that way.

Adderal is a party drug that many people take but doesn't really give a player a competitive advantage. It would be like calling a bowling team that likes to drink and smoke marijuana cheaters. Stupid. The only people with an advantage is the opponents. Players drinking a couple monsters would get the same "edge" before a game. Taking it in March isn't going to help you in September.

We don't know that it was actually adderall. We just know that it was "leaked" that it was adderall. The NFL will not confirm or deny it based on policy. And no reliable source has come out with evidence showing it was adderall.

In fact the more posts I read from forums members talking about how worhtless adderall would be in helping football players... the more I realize that it likely was not adderall.

Truth be told, if you've seen recent pictures of Irvin, he's been bulking up big time. He's probably put on at least 20 pounds of solid muscle this off season. I wouldn't be shocked to find out he was on steroids. Adderall doesn't do that

I like the media. Let them talk. I like our front office, our coaching staff, our players. I like Commish Goodell.
I'm not worried about our team. We've earned the right to be high profile. We are a spotlight team. Let's shine.

I know we haven't heard a reliable source confirming it was aderoll but we also haven't heard it leaked that it wasn't. Consider that before you assume it is something else. Why would anyone in the league risk their job to confirm he isn't lying? On the other hand it is not unreasonable at all for someone to take that same risk to leak that it was not aderoll.

As for putting on 20 pounds in the off season. I highly doubt that is close to accurate and would be easily confirmed as well as very suspicious. Also HGH is not detectable in a pee test. Only can be detected via blood test. I don't know if steroids will show in Pee or not but both do very similar things in helping the body grow so if he was in fact using something for the benefit of gaining muscle and weight, why wouldn't he use something that won't come up on a pee test? Again it doesn't add up.

I'm not sure why so many automatically assume the worst even with little to no facts.

Here is what we do know. He said he has had a rough couple of weeks in his apology. That implies he recently found out about the results of the test and it is unreasonable to assume the league held the information for several months so it is probably safe to assume this test was administered during the off season.

These guys that have tested positive are all young adults that are in the prime of their lives. They suddenly have money and have become instant celebrities. They are still in that stage of life where you believe it can't happen to you and are still out partying.

Based on what I am seeing I think it is more likely this was a partying event that they made a bad decision and if they are lying about what the actual PED was they were popped for it is more likely it was cocaine or meth than a steroid. Remember that Goodell will know what they were popped for so lying would also make them look bad in his eye's.

The cheating label is something for those outside of the organization or fan base. For us we should not be assuming anything. We should be digging up any and all information and trying to be as fair as possible. Leave the insults to the enemy. I'm not suggesting we lie or ignore facts but before we judge it is a good idea to consider every possibility.

A pro athlete CAN put on 20 pounds in the off season, not sure why it's just assumed that it's roids. Oh well

If you were cheating and got caught are you really a cheater?

You are very naive if you think this doesn't go on in every clubhouse in the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL...etc.

An easy way to break this down is simple:

If I have you a choice between the Seahawks winning a SuperBowl, but being found to have some players that have used PEDs later or being a competitive playoff team with no violations but not winning a SuperBowl...which would you choose?

A assure you that a fair amount of fans would pick the first option even with the cost.

Now, what if I gave the choice between the Seahawks winning TWO SuperBowls, but being found to have some players that have used PEDs later OR just winning one with no violations. Which would you choose? I am still betting a reasonable % would still pick the first option.

If you would pick the first option in either scenario, whether you are for cheating or not, you defined the benefits as worth the cost.

Frankly, I don't think it would matter which fan base you posed the question to. If it was the same questions about their team, I am betting near the same % would state the same thing. The only deviations might be teams that already have several SBs recently and don't pine for them as much.

The Haters just want a reason to hate. This happens in all sports. What would happen if every player in every sport was tested for HGH? I can think of recent RB and LB comeback stories... I love how this somehow means PC is involved, like he is the mastermind behind a doping ring or something. What a joke.

- This sounds like a Doug Baldwin tweet. Paraphrasing the bible is fine to get a point across, but adding the word "haters" after it seriously takes away your credibility. It's sad as I grow older, these athletes I once saw as rolemodels when I was a kid. I now see as...kids.
