every time I see DK go to catch a pass I'm reminded of Top Billin's critique that he never catches with his hands. That long pass was another good example.

Not sure why he jumped for it. If he hadn't, it would probably have been a catch

He jumped because he needed to go over the defender to get it. If he'd reached out and grabbed it with his hands instead of trying to catch with his arms and body he probably would have had it. Not saying it was a great pass or anything, just that he mostly catches with his body.

And short. And like you said well defended, the defenders hand was in the bread basket

He definitely did not snatch that ball out of the air with his hands but it was well defended and well under thrown
