Next year and praises Shane over Pete in Seattle’s winning record. Starts at about the 2:35 minute mark

Was this the right clip? I was waiting to hear the Waldron discussion but could never find it. Maybe it's because I am on mobile and can usually not exactly pinpoint the time on a video. Can you tell me what Colin said?

Its the natural progression of things, its expected. Pete will be left with at least the idea of what Waldron was doing.

Yeah, Pete has always said that he wants his assistants to to advance no matter what team it's for. He was very clear about that when we lost 2 DCs in a row to HC jobs.

After this year Waldron is going to be a top candidate for a lot of teams.. no way he stays unless he is a head coach in waiting designation already but I don’t think Pete ever plans on retiring.

Pete's coaching tree reminds me of Bill Walsh's coaching tree 🌳 JK

I can see that, and with the job he has done on offence, I wouldn't mind him being the new HC.

He coached up Geno Smith. If he is not gone this year he will be gone next year.

I don't get the trend of just offering HC jobs to coordinators based on their success leading at most, only 1/3rd of a team. HC ing requires a skillset that is far more complicated than simply coordinating an offense or defense. I know it's the way things go, but for the basis for a hire to be the x and os success... that's just a small part of the equation. I could be wrong, but when i see Shane, leader of a team, gravitas, charisma,... those aren't things that jump off the page to me. He has an almost quirky way to him that comes across more like a corny-cool, studied-up, master of an offensive mind.

But i guess if someone wants to throw him a bag full of money and the controls of a team, that's all good for him.

And agree that if he is coveted, Pete will be happy for him.

I'll tell you the exact moment when Cowherd completely lost me. When Gonzaga lost to Arkansas in the NCAA tournament last year, he displayed his complete ignorance about college basketball with a segment about the game the following day. He simply had no idea what he was talking about. Understandable, considering Cowherd makes a living talking about the NFL, seven days a week, 365 days a year. He probably didn't watch a single college basketball game in its entirety for the entire college basketball season. Yet he felt compelled to make commentary about a post season college basketball game as if he had some type of unique knowledge. As if he were revealing some kind of innovative, compelling perspective. This just in. He is NOT QUALIFIED to make commentary about college basketball. He is CLULESS about the sport. Regardless, that was the EXACT moment that Cowherd lost me forever. From that point on, he had ZERO credibility with me. ZERO.

The term "talking head" was invented because of people like Cowherd.

I'd like to see Waldron named Asst. Head Coach making him HC in waiting like he did with Cable.

Not only do I think Waldron gets interviews, but I think he goes to the Broncos.

I would agree, even though it is early what he is doing with the offense is absolutely unprecedented
