Carolina's normal slot corner is Benwikere but he broke his leg a month ago. Also Charles Tillman tore his ACL in week 17. Norman doesn't normally line up in the slot but they might have to adjust that approach otherwise Doug Baldwin will be exploiting his matchup all game. Either way they will need to pick their poison because if they do move Norman inside then Wilson will have no problem going outside to Lockett and Kearse.

The Panthers play zone, so no one will be matched up 1 on 1 anyway. They'll probably play even less man coverage than usual because of injuries in their secondary.

It could be a tough day for the corner on the Panthers.

Norman may be on Lockett a good part of the day, and if he is, I fully expect Seattle to go after Norman. Lockett excels at breaking press, and will win that matchup. I am fully aware of Norman's skill, but Lockett has the quicks to tie Norman up.

Baldwin is unlikely to be across form Norman much. And if Kearse is on Norman, I would not expect many looks Kearse's way.

I can see that. But if that's the case, and we do go after him, Russell is not going to get away the the underthrown tear drops. He will have to make Lockett really run after it. If he throws those deep passes that Lockett has to slow down for and jump to shield the pass as he catches it in the body -- Norman is going to get picks on those.

Norman is very good at getting 'long' when the ball arrives. Lockett can burn by him. But Russell can't give that advantage away as he frequently does. Lockett will not be able to body catch those throws. Russell is going to have to be way more accurate with the deep ball because this won't be a case where the receivers will make the pass look good. Gotta hit him in full stride or make him dive for it.

Honestly, if they don't have Norman on Baldwin, I think I'm targetting him 17+ times. There is little way Finnegan can cover DB. That's a fantastic matchup in our favor. He'll be open all day long.

I'd keep DB and Lock split on opposite sides. Make them pick their poison.

According to rotoworld, Baldwin played the slot in 77% of his snaps from week 13-17 and including the playoff game vs Minnesota. Norman has played a total of 1,079 snaps, only 11 times has he defended the slot. So I think it's safe to say Baldwin won't see much of Baldwin.

I'd hope not.

AGHH!!! Obviously I meant Baldwin won't be seeing much of Norman. It's pretty clear I need to go to sleep now.

Would that be mirror coverage?
