So, the request was made. Does anyone know whether we said "Sure, after the Super Bowl"? The request being made doesn't mean the request was granted...

Klint Kubiak has moved his family to a new city for 4 consecutive years.

His position coaching staff is settled in.

He's never had the opportunity to be the offensive coordinator in consecutive years.

Most of his starting players are signed for continuity thru a second year.

As Macdonald has noted, the job of a head coach is decidedly different than that of a coordinator.

Klint is only 38 years old going on 39. Plenty of time to take the big step.

He's onboard with a stable and proven organization he can trust.

The best is yet to come.

It's a request? Which means they can be denied? So not really tampering.

Yeah this is extremely common in the NFL with coordinators from successful teams. Hawks won't deny him the interview, they are pretty open about encouraging coaches in these situations.

Random question. We hear Kubiak and MacDonald mentioned all the time but what is Leslie Fraziers role as assistant headcoach? Is he just chief of staff to MM? He was obviously a head coach and coordinator before and won the super bowl as a player but I am curious as he is never talked about.

Mike Macdonald* has talked about him a lot over the past two years. You have to watch the press conferences. His role is essentially the sage advisor.

If im Atlanta i am not hiring Klint. His resume is not better than other candidates. Stefanski, Taylor, Flores,Saleh there is alot of good coaches this time around. And yes I forgot, Pete if he fills he can still do it.

I don't see Kubiak going anywhere at least until after next year. The current openings suck other than maybe the Giants and going to a sh*t show like the Falcons would not be a great idea. Following year might have some good opportunities, and with another year of solid experience under his belt, he might be higher on a good organization's list. But we probably lose him after 2026.

Plus, I heard it through the grapevine that in his spare time, Klint likes to kick puppies and refuses to help elderly women cross the street. He's absolutely unhirable!

My opinion is that Kubiak's first year here was not good enough to cause him to jump in as a HC somewhere else. He needs another year, at least, to get his resume tidied up. Atlanta is creating one year opportunities for Head Coaching experience. How attractive would that be to a first year candidate?

I compare Kubiak to like a young qb who would serve himself much better to spend another year in college developing rather than jumping to the nfl. Kubiak has the foundation of a solid offensive scheme and even good creativity but he still seems to need more seasoning. Develop who he really is as play caller. I hope he stays for a couple years and builds a Seattle offense

If someone gets up and goes to the bathroom, that's taking away from 110 percent concentration on the next game.

This....is why I am at home now. I got up and went to the bathroom. I lost my chance.

Atlanta is just doing its due diligence, kicking the tires. As @Appyhawk said, the Seahawk offense was not a juggernaut this season. It's the defense that sets them apart, and no one's looking at Aden Durde because they know it's Macddonald's defense and that he calls the defensive signals.

I'd be surprised if Kubiak gets any head coaching offers this time around.

You have zero proof that he's going to do that. All I'm saying is that you're ASSUMING he's going to bounce and start looking.
Show me some sort of proof that he's not focused on the next game. Someone asking doesn't mean he's losing focus. Plenty of teams are going to enquire about him. This happens every single year in the NFL. Doesn't mean the team or the coach isn't focused.
Let’s just hope the “proof” doesn’t show up in the pudding!

If he shits the bed, we’re all going to see it.
