I don't see Kubiak going anywhere at least until after next year. The current openings suck other than maybe the Giants and going to a sh*t show like the Falcons would not be a great idea. Following year might have some good opportunities, and with another year of solid experience under his belt, he might be higher on a good organization's list. But we probably lose him after 2026.
He was asked a couple weeks ago if the opportunity arose if he’d go and be HC, iirc in summary he said he really doesn’t want to.

Not all coordinators want to be head coaches, and maybe Klint thinks he has some more to do with our offense before he moves on.

I'd hate to change OCs this fast. I think our offense has just been coming into form the second half of the season, and another year with these guys could be something to see. Most of the key guys are locked in for the next season or two, so continuity shouldn't be a problem.

Please, Mr Kubiak, stay here in Seattle.

How many open HC jobs are there now....6? Damn.

I hope that we're focused on the next game, despite the bye. And none of this bullshit should be allowed until after the superbowl, period.

And, meh. I haven't been impressed. I think I've been impressed really, the last game against the digits, and probably about 3 or 4 halves that he's called all season. I was literally telling my wife during the 9ers game: "SEE! We CAN run screens!!!! Finally". I forget what game it was, but JSN not even getting a SINGLE target until 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter? Stupid.

The rest of the time I have been literally WTF I could call a better game than KK.

Fine when he's 'on'. Absolute garbage when he's off.

The Falcons are also interviewing Kevin Stefanski and Anthony Weaver (Dolphins DC). I'm sure there will be others. I doubt that Kubiak will be the front runner for the job.

Ya I want the continuity and an entire offseason for him to refine and upgrade the offense based on the personnel and everything they've put on tape so far. Don't want to lose guys like Benton either who has improved the OL.

Kubiak hasn't been perfect, but his overall body of work this season is very good. (B grade range)

If he "really doesn't want to" why would he accept to interview?

It's good to go through the process for a number of different reasons. It's good prep for if he is offered a position he does like, networking, etc. And who knows, maybe the offer him the world and he can't refuse? You never know unless you go.

Kubiak, don't be stupid and go to that dumpster fire of an organization. You have it good here and other teams will be calling for you.

Pretty much this, right here. *Points up at hawks85 post*

The smart head coaching prospects wait for the good teams to call. Dan Quinn saw the Commanders were going to draft Jayden Daniels and took that job. Meanwhile, Robert Saleh, and other desperate fools jumped at the chance to be the Jets coach..

I'm surprised that more coordinators don't feel the same way. I know the NFL is the "alphas of the alphas", but HC is a "be careful what you wish for" job. You'll work harder than you ever have, probably lose a lot, get much more media scrutiny, and ultimately fired. A couple new head coaches break through every cycle and have success, though.

Kubiak already has a big name, gets plenty of attention, and will always have teams climbing over each other for him to be their OC. Seems like a good life, though who knows what you'd say if a team says "you want the job?"

If I’m Kubiak, I take the interview but I likely wouldn’t take the job. If he wants to be a head coach one day then it’s good to get some interviews in now.

For those worried about him not game planning for our game that’s impossible to do until we know the opponent. Right now you have guys practicing the basics and wait until next week to install the full offense/defense once we know who they are.

I wonder if the coaching staff would use the extra time to get some pre-work done on the Rams. Particularly the defensive staff.

He seems to be tipped as the best offensive candidate. A lot of bad orgs see the coordinator over the head coach and this may be the case here. I think he is a pretty good OC but he doesn't seem HC material in the few interviews ive seen- a motivator, culture builder, leader of men.

Yeah, it's down to four possibilities now and they can watch film on those, but can't really game plan intelligently until you know which on your facing, and we won't know until the weekend plays out. Meanwhile, they have extra days to look in the mirror and work on what didn't go well last Saturday.

I would apply for worker's comp instead of signing with the Jets.
