Geez hope more time is spent on self scouting, redzone, and 3rd downs than it is on interviews.
Come on man, you're being way too paranoid. How in world does this equate to him not being ready for playoffs.

If im Atlanta i am not hiring Klint. His resume is not better than other candidates. Stefanski, Taylor, Flores,Saleh there is alot of good coaches this time around. And yes I forgot, Pete if he fills he can still do it.
I get what you’re saying but if they weren’t interested in signing him why even ask? To be fair, I wouldn’t think they would either but this isn’t the “he’s a minority” let’s interview him request. I know you have to shake the trees but I can’t see them reaching out if not interested. And maybe this week is convenient to be honest. I prefer him to stay, keep the offense learning the system (look at the defense this year in year 2), and just absolutely kick everyone’s ass. He’s got some toys too… JSN, Charbs, ‘Sheed, etc.

Too many HC openings. I'm afraid someone is gonna pluck our Kubs.
But also a pretty good stable of candidates.

The best opportunity is probably the Giants and/or Baltimore.

Tier two
Atlanta
Titans

Tier Three
Cleveland

Other
Cardinals
Raiders

I'm not sure Kubiak gets either of the top jobs - and does he want the dumpster fires left over?

Durde isn’t ready to be HC. He was DC under Quinn, who called plays and under MM, well, you know who ran that D.

“If” we lost Kubiac, are there any young up and coming bright minds from the tree that Shanahan built? Heck, wait 3 years and let Kupp have a crack. He’s as bright as any of them.

Durde was only the d-line coach in Dallas while Quinn was DC. Seattle is his first time being DC.

One problem with losing your coordinator is that they end up taking a bunch of your assistants with them. When Ben Johnson left the Lions, he took two key assistants, JT Barrett and Antwaan Randle El, with him to Chicago.

When you consider that Aaron Glenn took 4 Lions assistants with him, it means the Lions had 8 positions to replace this year. That probably contributed to their step back this year.

I personally don’t think Kubiak is ready to be a HC yet. I think if Kubiak sticks around here as OC for a 2 or 3 more years, he would then be experienced, especially, if Seattle wins the Super Bowl this year and is able to learn a few more years under MacDonald. Then, he would probably have a good list of teams he could lead.

This Michael Penix and Kirk Cousins contract would scare me into avoiding Atlanta altogether. If the organization wants to keep Cousins and play him for the remainder of his contract that would deter me from signing. That thing is a huge mess for a first time HC. Penix is there and if he got to coach up Penix it couldn’t be as bad but with a highly paid Cousins also there, it makes for an uncomfortable QB room, I would avoid.

Stick around here, Kubiak. The grass is already green. The water is blue. Nobody is running you out of town. Seahawks are on their way to another Super Bowl. And I like our chances against anyone.

All these openings have alot of issues. And once a new first time HC is fired. Their chances of being a HC in a good location with a good owner is hard to get into. Stay as OC with the Seahawks and get your rings!

I just think this feels like more of a, let's do our do diligents on the younger guys with potential first. And teams know they won't be able to interview Kubiak after this week.

Nick Brinkerhoff at USA Today predicts that Kubiak will be the Cardinals head coach:

But he doesn't base his prediction on any reporting, it's pure speculation. I don't think that Kubiak gets a HC job this year because there are 7 openings, and more than 7 candidates who are more likely to get the jobs.

My ranking of the available HC candidates:

John Harbaugh
Mike McCarthy
Kevin Stefanski
Jesse Minter
Brian Flores
Steve Spagnuola
Chris Shula
Matt Nagy
Davis Webb

I can't see Kubiak getting a job over any of these guys. Even Kliff Kingsbury is a better candidate than Kubiak at this stage of his career.

Jody should just triple his salary to keep him here for another season. I don't want a new offense and new staff where everyone has to learn all over again.

After the Lions lost Ben Johnson, they were not as good.
That's what I'm saying. We got the golden goose with this coaching staff, don't let it get away. If the guy wants some Robert Kraft massages, make it happen.
