I dislike the 49ers, but they have 6 draft picks in the first 3 rounds. They're going to be just fine this coming season. Tough freaking division.

I don't think they try to sign Rice until they see what happens in the draft first. I like Rice but his body has taken a beating. I'd rather give opportunities to younger players. I say if they draft a WR in round 1 or 2 then they don't bother with a veteran signing but if they don't do that then you go looking for a vet, and Rice would be the 1st choice.

Kearse, Harvin, & Baldwin...That's relatively solid. Add a 1st or 2nd round pick and assuming the rookie produces you should be able to handle an injury there. (Cough Harvin Cough).

I'd keep Lockette on the roster because of his value on special teams. There is your 5. If you want to keep 6, you have a battle between Chris Matthews, Taylor Price (2 guys they signed this offseason), possibly another rookie (either a late rd pick or undrafted free agent), and 2 practice squadders from last year; Arceto Clark or Bryan Walters.

I'm perfectly comfortable with this scenario.

He will sign with the ninners

If he does then he is a jerkoff because he didnt sign with us. Even if we didnt try to sign him he is a jerkoff for signing with them. :-0

There's always a couple of vets who sign after the draft.

Exactly. There's usually a flurry of activity post draft as teams scramble to fill positions they couldn't fill in the draft. If Sid is still around after that, then I bet he comes back here on a vet minimum deal.

The only reason I would want Rice back is because he's good friends with Percy. With that being said, I wanted Kearse to start prior to Rice getting hurt. If he was playing at 80% capacity because of his knee, well it sure looked like it. If that is the case, and he would be 20% better, then I would be more interested.

Sidney.... He has one good year and one OK year out of seven! The rest are crap or injury filled, why would anyone take that risk? I guess I will never get it.
