I apoogize if this was in another thread-

Last I heard-he was talking to Carolina-

Any news on him coming back to us? Makes much more sense than someone like Kenny Britt.

He won't be back, too much interest from others for him to be "available" at the price would need him to be-IJMHO

Funny, that's what people said about Bennett. That worked out ok for us price wise.

Is he even medically cleared to play yet?

I'm pretty sure he's been talking about being "ready to go" by May on his twitter feed

Yeah apparently his rehab is going very well but that's what they would all say so who knows.

I figure a team like Carolina who lost their top 4 WR's will overpay for someone like Rice. I'd like him back, but it has to be at a reasonable price because he's injury prone, is coming off major knee surgery and his production wasn't great while here the past two years.

Thats my opinion

I think if he was going to get overpaid it would have happened already. He will probably need to take a "prove it" deal. If that is the case, it would make sense for him to go to an offense that chucks it a lot so he can try to rack up some nice stats.

No way he goes to Denver. They already replaced the WR they lost (Decker) with a better one (Sanders) so they're set on offense.

They've also mortgaged the future for their defense this year. They had better hope they win it this year or next because then Manning is gone and they're in salary cap hell for a while.

They will not win it this year. Running game isnt strong enough

They'll do fine in the AFC and probably get to the SB again if Manning stays healthy. However, once they get to the SB, they're going to get clobbered by either the whiners or Hawks. Playing all year in a soft league will not prepare you for the dominating defenses of the NFCW. Rinse and repeat.

Carolina? The team that just lost their top 4 WR's and who's QB will be out for 4-5 months? Nah, they're strapped for cap space and their run game is still suspect. They're going to be in cap hell for a few years after paying all those front 7 guys.

Arizona still have Palmer at QB, no thanks. Their defense and secondary is going to be pretty good though, they just got Cromartie.

I don't think the niners will be as good this year as they were last year so we'll see. They lost Whitner for Bethea, downgrade. They're DL and OL is a year older and so is Boldin. Bownman will be out the first half of the year, etc.

It'll be the Hawks, for sure, but the niners will be pushing us again.

The Saints will also be pretty good now that they got Byrd.

Panthers just signed Jerricho Cotchery so they should be good at the position.

I'm pretty sure Golden Tate got great money and he was in this offense.

Do you think his value would be better on the open market after this coming season if he signs a 1 year deal with a team like New Orleans and puts up 1200+ yards, or if he signs a 1 year deal with Seattle and puts up 700+ yards?

You do realize that they play all 4 NFC west teams during this year's regular season don't you?

Between that and the fact that the Broncos/ Pats game is in Foxborough this year, I bet the Pats get HFA and a very good shot at AFC champs next year.

I think the final standings in the NFC West will largely be determined by results of Broncos vs NFCW and Eagles vs NFCW games as I expect a lot of splits in the NFCW vs NFCW series this year. Which of the NFCW teams has an advantage largely depends on whether you think the Eagles or the Broncs will be the stronger team next year.

I know, "thank you captain obvious," you're welcome.
