Hawkstorian, I'm not sure I agree with your opinion on Adams being cut but do think he's going to have renegotiate a portion of his salary, which is not an unreasonable request by the team after him not playing for 11/2 seasons now.

With rookie minicamp this weekend we finally may find out who the UDFA signings will be.

I never can remember a season where the team has taken this long to announce who they signed. I have truly only been paying close attention though since 2002. This season with the unusually large number of college undrafted FAs it is especially curious as there are going to be at least 3 of the 28 names we know something as reported signed about who will not be kept due to roster limits.

With Seattle being a long way away from home for some of these guys, them arriving late to get medical clearances, or flat out changes of mind may occur, and maybe there were other issues, but it still seems odd there has been this very long delay in announcing the signings.

Just sayin’

According to the following from Seahawks.com we have signed 25 UDFA. That should mean we are not in need of cutting anyone on the roster at this point.

I was excited about Ifeanyi Maijeh. He didn't make the list. Wonder what happened.

Sorry for the formatting ---- these are the 32 'tryout' players.

70 guys in rookie camp. 10 draft picks. 25 undrafted free agents. 3 other roster players, 32 tryout players. A couple of the reporters counted 31, but this is 32.

Thanks Jville!!!

Updated, though the colour and formatting is wrong.

I’m away travelling this week and with just my phone, updates will be slow and incomplete.

Now back, and now fixed

"The Seahawks continued adding to their defensive line on Monday, signing nose tackle LaTrell Bumphus, an undrafted rookie out of Tennessee.
Outside linebacker Chris Garrett was waived to make room on the 90-man roster." https://www.seahawks.com/news/seahawks-sign-nt-latrell-bumphus

Edit: Later in the 1st day of Phase 3 ......

Thanks Jville, much appreciated as ever.

Updated.

The corresponding roster move for the addition of Artie Burns is the release of UDFA NT- 99- Robert Cooper,

.Com has Arte Burns as #3. He was 21 last year, but that's Weatherspoon now.

So yeah, they gave #3 to a guy, albeit not someone who is likely to be on the field in September.

True Payton could bench him :) Although Burns once healthy was a viable DB.

Too bad, I had liked what I saw of Cooper. I guess this probably means that either they weren't too happy with what they saw of him during rookie mini-camp and/or they've been really pleased with Cam Young and at least one of the other UDFA DTs and felt comfortable with cutting from that group to provide insurance with a veteran CB because of the Woolen injury.

I suspect you might be right CanHawks, but it might be the former as they have brought in quite a few players at NT and Cooper is just too raw and needs to get stronger.

At this point I expect them to engage is rather steady chopping and changing until the roster looks like the one PC wants to have to open the season. Even then cuts from other teams may add coveted quality at some positions.

Just because he was released yesterday does not mean he won't be resigned tomorrow and someone else released, this is the time of year where we see guys come go come back, get a mystery injury and signed to the IR for a redshirt year etc.

Completely agree.

Perhaps there is more than meets the eye here as well.
