2023 Depth Chart, Roster Moves, Cap Position

The team usually makes close to 300 roster moves/season (last year 315). This depth chart changes as injuries happen and/or players are added or subtracted as needed. I believe having a depth chart here is a good addition to the main board page so when the team changes players, knowing their player numbers, their names, and positional information is a good thing to be able to quickly refer to here without leaving the site. JS likes to churn the roster a bit to help the competitive situations at various positions.

Here below is a current depth chart. I will record each transaction in and out as they happen. This depth chart is just my opinion, feel free to comment or suggest changes. Comments here are welcomed, this thread is supposed to be informative but also to encourage roster discussion. The plan is to record all forthcoming roster moves and to adjust the DC as the roster changes are made.

Please advise here of any changes as they happen. The usual dependable members always assist but everyone should feel completely free to report changes to the roster here when they happen. Be careful as sometimes the media gets the story wrong, or the source proves unreliable. All assistance is greatly appreciated and allows us to have an accurate and up to date DC here. I will attempt to keep this depth chart current quickly after all changes, PS designations, waivers, cuts, additions, players claimed, PUP, or injury designations, etc.. I will also attempt to keep it current throughout the season by indicating what the roster moves were after they happen. This sometimes involves a delay, sometimes life intervenes, and the delay may result in the update being slower to happen. However, I will make every effort to keep this page current. This hopefully will be a complete record.

I will also update the presently available cap number on a weekly basis, or as quickly as information can be obtained from https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/seattle-seahawks/. Their number can also be seen at the bottom of this page.

Here is the roster from Seahawks.com: http://www.seahawks.com/team/roster
Note: presently out of date

Here is a link to the team’s coaching staff from the team’s website: https://www.seahawks.com/team/coaches-roster/

Here also a DC from the team: http://www.seahawks.com/team/depth-chart

Here as well is the transactions report from the team: https://www.seahawks.com/team/transactions/ This page is usually out of date.

EDIT update for Dept Chart: Mike Morris expects to see work at 3 technique and 4i. So, his days as a OLB are in the rear view mirror. Morris is now strictly a defensive lineman.

Several sources, but nothing official, indicate the team has signed or agreed to terms with 25 UDFA players.

I have listed them on the roster page and now posted them, roster shows 89 players with one open spot.

EDITED: have now posted to the roster the UDFA players as listed on the OP.

I have listed them on the roster page but until official confirmation will not post them to the roster. If they are all signed the team has 87 players under contract.

Nicely done ....... complete with links to reporting sources. (y)

Still think there may in fact be 3 more UDFA players signed. No links available that are reliable for them so I won’t post. However there is at least one that for sure I hope is signed.

Sure wish the team would post their list. Regardless there are lots of high quality draft sleepers to be added to a very solid draft class.

Thanks John: as ever your input is appreciated.

I predict we all will be very happy with McIntosh before his time here is up. He was regarded as a high character guy in pre-draft assessments.

Updated.

Assuming they sign all 28 undrafted free agents that have been reported, that would put the roster at 91, so we can expect at least one cut.

At present I have only identified 27 players as signed or agreed to be signed and that differs from some reports that there are 28. My abacus says the team has 89 players that can be identified at least by me.

I wish my team was more forthcoming about these UDFA players so this stuff was clearer. As fans we hope that stuff like this would be more transparent.

The cap situation is somewhat confusing as well. Things may need to be rejigged somewhat to even sign the draft picks. This though is an accounting problem where some creativity could be involved.

I have 53 players on the roster after re-signing Winston. Plus 10 draft picks + 28 UDFA = 91.

The UDFA I don’t see on your list is WR C.J. Johnson from East Carolina.

Part of the reason they don't announce anything is these guys have to all get into town and pass physicals before they are officially signed. With such a big list it's possible not everyone will get that far.

As far a cap space-- they can sign most everyone, but will need to re-work an existing veteran deal before they can sign Witherspoon. I also think there's a chance Mone is cut before June 1 when his $500k roster bonus is due. This doesn't save much space but it does save cash.

They could convert Jamal Adams' base salary into signing bonus recover enough cap space to get through the summer.

Thanks John!!!

I thought there were 52 players before re-signing Winston. I have to now seen nothing on WR- C.J. Johnson but will add him. My number would be 90 then.

In the past we have not had this mystery about potential undrafted player potential signings, but do get the need for physicals and changes of mind situations.
