UFA

Brett Hundley - Need arms but cost and value here, is there a better option ?
Sebastian Janikowski - Gone
Neiko Thorpe - He is getting spendy for a bench player, his real value is special teams at this point.
Mike Davis - Sign for right price
Justin Coleman - Sign
Earl Thomas - Gone
Mo Alexander - If he is healthy minimum offer
KJ Wright - Would love to have him back but not at his cost and his health is always going to be a question now.
Frank Clark (Franchise tender would be $17,144,000) - Need to work a deal
Mychal Kendricks - Resign I think we can work a deal since we stuck with him.
J.R. Sweezy - Resign, again he has seen the Dark side, don't lowball but fair offer.
D.J. Fluker - Same as Sweezy
Dion Jordan - Offer reasonable deal with incentives if he can stay healthy
Shemar Stephen - I didn't see anything special, if some of our other players step up he could be gone.

RFA

Akeem King (Originally a 7th rd pick) - Would be nice to have back for depth
Tre Madden - can we sign a real FB
Kalan Reed (Originally a 7th rd pick) - 2 years and we don't know who he is, unless a special teams ace no.
George Fant - Yes resign
Quinton Jefferson (Originally a 5th rd pick) - Finally started to show something, resign.

EFA

Emmanuel Ellerbee - Special teams guy probably resigned reasonable.
Malik Turner - Practice squad guy who showed up a few times on the Roster, could replace Brown.
J.D. McKissic - Yes resign he will be reasonable and he has been better the Procise due to available.
Shalom Luani - Would like to see him play some, could be our future thumper.
T.J. Mutcherson = Probably get a invite and a make it contract
T.J. Green (Contract probably tolls due to 'retiring' not that it matters)
Joey Hunt - Kind of our emergency everything right now, resign reasonable
Austin Calitro - Has been valuable, if the price is right bring him back
Ricky Ali'ifua - Again a offer and try out contract.
Jordan Simmons - Resign
Tyler Ott - Resign
David Moore - Resign
Branden Jackson - Resign he showed something but needs consistency, cheap deal.

Potential Cap Casualties:

Kam Chancellor ($10.5M salary + bonus) I think he admits he needs to retire at this point.
Doug Baldwin ($10M salary + bonus) (don't get mad, just showing facts) Re negotiate maybe?
Ed Dickson ($3.7M Salary + bonus) Also will be here
Barkevious Mingo ($3.3M Salary + bonus) - He will be here
Jaron Brown ($2.75M Salary + bonus) - Think he is gone

Seahawks sign kicker Sam Ficken late of the Rams to a futures deal as reality about Seabass appears to be uncertain. Source: Seattle Times

Ficken played his college ball at Penn State. This player seems to be just another guy or a camp body type. Time will tell.

Perhaps this is the beginning of several more moves on ST?

Seahawks have signed FA DT- Jamie Meder late of the Browns. he was an undrafted player who has bulked up to 308 as a pro. Meder is a solid run stuffer and was highly ranked as such. He was injured in 2017 (ankle) and cut by the Browns in Sept. 2018. His release was a surprise but may have had to do with his injury.

source: http://www.rostermon.com/teams/sea/transactions/

He could be a diamond in rough, and was a college wrestler prior to going pro.

Here's a wiki on him:

He was named the AFC Special Teams Player of Week for Week 16 (2016) after saving the Browns with his clutch fourth-quarter play against the Chargers.

Interesting, the age of the team dropped sharply with the many changes this year.

Younger = hungrier?

Younger = more willing to listen to Pete’s message?

Or is it that younger just equals cheaper?

I think every team would like to be younger and cheaper, it's just a function of drafting well.

Hadn't noticed that. Smart move by both the Jaguars and QB Alex McGough. I guess the quarterback position figures to be in play every year when it comes to both a quarter back backup and a development prospect.

They say it is a copycat league. Maybe they saw what we saw in him and are trying to mimic it or learn from it different methodologies. Maybe they are preparing for meeting with those teams that we beat or have the same type offense we have....minus the Oline. LOL.

(I actually think our Oline will be better this year with some minor tweaks. )

Thanks Kitsap, what a difference a season makes.

The team looks to be in good shape as far as the cap going into this offseason. If we add the rollover amount to the cap total and the cap that will be recaptured from releasing Kam which could be between $8 & $10.5 million depending upon timing and the wording of his contract, the team is in good shape.

Key deals will involve Clark, the two OGs Sweezy and Fluker, Coleman, and what to do with Wilson. The RFA pile is small and there may need to be some tough decisions made with only a few UFAs. The team has a large group of ERFAs who will be cheap leaving them with considerable ability to make some care FA acquisitions if needed. They are far better off this season than last and have a very solid young nucleus of players here for the future.

The FO has managed this retooling pretty well.

This is a fabulous thread; informational, constantly up-to-date because several of you care so much about it.

Thank you! Your hard work has certainly earned the 31,000 views.

Pete's roster-churn helps, too. :D
