What I like about this years road team is that the losses were close. The first game we played from being and still almost won. The Rams game was lost on a slight of hand play. The Dolphin game was the worst of the lot IMO.

Then we won in Chicago and Buff. Those 2 wins really erased everything else for me, and now I am confident of our chances.

Ding-Ding-Ding!!! Excellent points. This team has been COMPETITIVE in EVERY SINGLE GAME this season. I understand this franchise has looked like 2 different teams at home vs. on the road in the past. But, to say that THIS Seahawks team road play is questionable because of the past without considering HOW this Hawks team has played in road games this season... is really misconstruing the capabilities of this team on the road. It's just not accurate of THIS Seahawks team. They have not been chumps on the road... so, we have no reason to believe that will happen in the more meaningful playoffs. This is true whether the Seahawks win or lose this weekend... as long as they are as competitive as they've been all season in EVERY game (home or away). Granted, W's and L's are what everyone looks at without regard for how games play out. If the Hawks get beat... that team will have deserved the win because they will have won a fight. I just don't see this team laying an egg. We have NOT seen that this year. Disappointing losses and perhaps a couple that got away? Yes.

Having said all that... forget the talk. Just go get this first one.

Being the 5th seed, obviously, is a great opportunity to possibly erase much or all of the "can't play on the road" talk. I think even winning the first game should help, 2 even better, 3 could eliminate this label. Maybe just wishful thinking, but somewhat excited and hopeful that the Hawks will not just earn respect as a road team (as well as at home), but demand it by their play throughout the playoffs.

Records are only predictors. Nothing more. You can go back and say anything about the past, but what it all boils down to is match ups. How many people here have actually believed we had the advantages in our road match ups before? The '83 and '03 teams were the only ones that lost on the road to teams that didn't have favorable match ups.

The upcoming game against Atlanta sees quite a few favorable match ups for us.

Wow, now everybody will be fighting to be in the wild card round.
