He should totally not be hiring a QB trainer. The team already has one of those.

Let's not ask him to be Russell Wilson. First it's a personal QB trainer, then he wants his own office.... :p
:ROFLMAO:
I get what that sounded like and the team does have a QB coach
but I'm thinking along the lines of what Josh Allen did, it wasn't
the Bills QB coach either.
I'm the last person who wants a Me3 ;)

I have been honest about him needing work, even saying he made some bone-headed plays, every QB makes mistakes, some more than others, and that he struggled towards the end of the year.

In 2023 Milroe was QB when we won the SEC Championship game and took us to the National Championship Game, only to lose to Michigan in OT due to a horrible snap on the final play of the game on the 2-yard line for the tying TD. Even that year, they were blasting him about the things I mentioned. So, his 1st year we did compete for the National Championship and then Saban retired.
The next year he had a new OC for the 3rd time in his career at Alabama, new HC, and honestly the whole team struggled, not just him. Almost all college teams struggle when a whole new coaching staff takes over. But he was the scapegoat for everything that went wrong last year. Our defense really struggled stopping the run last year, in fact we were ranked 21 overall in defense in the D1, that is not where we had been in prior years.

You don't have to believe me, but it isn't always the best thing to do to call out someone about something you have no first-hand knowledge about! Were you a member of Bama Online? Doubtful, so you really don't have first-hand knowledge of what was going on with these fans.
You have not provided one single shred of evidence that race had anything to do with the criticism of him. Not one! That is a very dangerous thing to insinuate without any evidence whatsoever.

Defense has to win it when your QB is actively sabotaging you. Those back-to-back UGA teams had both. Bama has consistently recruited elite offensive skill positions players too, and OL.
Saban won 6 National Championships at Alabama, and he most definitely did not have elite QBs in many of those years. In fact, many people referred to our QB’s as game mangers. Greg McElroy, A.J. McCarron and Jake Coker certainly were not elite. Mac Jones was better than those guys, but he also had a wide receiving core of Jeudy, Ruggs, Smith, and Waddle. Jalen Hurts started the game in 2017, but was benched at halftime and Tua came in to win it.

My point is that in order to win a National Championship, it takes more than an elite QB, there must be good RBs which we had 2 win the Heisman winners, great defenses when we were always in the top 10, and a solid consistent coaching staff.
The last time we won a championship was 2020. We have not been holding up the Bama Standard for several years and it not just at the QB position.

The players at Bama loved him! They supported him on the field and off, I don't remember there ever being a lockroom issue.

I am going to be completely honest about where a lot of the hate come from for him. There is a ton of sidewalk fans, fans who didn’t attend Alabama and are just a bunch of redneck Alabama residents. Milroe is a black guy and some people even to this day have issues with a black man. The Alabama board was just toxic the years he played due to these God-awful people, they hijacked every thread, insulted his intelligence even after he won the Academic Heisman, and even went so far to attack and insult his parents at the games.

Like I said earlier, Jalen does need some work, but he is also so much fun to watch when he is on. No, he is not ready to start in the NFL, but very few rookie QB's are ready to start.
Pretty new here Bamagirl and welcome, here at .Net we historically use a reference, link, or a pasted post of some sort when making statements like this to validate a story, otherwise it is just opinions, and those can escalate quickly to things out of control. Justa FYI ! Especially when dealing with a subject matter concerning the assault of a persons Race, Religion Orientation political affiliation, Gender it goes on. Remember a large majority of people here are from Seattle, there isn't a tree standing that doesn't have a hugger with saving a spotted owl tee shirt on :)

Thanks for the welcome! I wish I could go back to posts on a message board from last season or the year before, but I can't, posts drop after a certain amount of time.
Here is one example of our fan base. ML Football tweeted the Jalen was going to pay his parents money for all the money have spent while he was in college. The very first reaction was:
"That's great. It truly is. But I have to chuckle a little that he never misses an opportunity to work the media and public perception. He couldn't just do that without fanfare. Had to announce it."
Doesn't matter that he didn't post it, just poster looking for something negative to say.

This is what I replied in the thread and had a lot of people like the post because it was spot on.

Jalen could cure cancer and some of these posters would find something negative to say about it. The hate for him is really bizarre.

Reactions:DRC53, Rtrfnd, glen55 and 35 others

Then someone replied that "Nobody here hates Jalen" and here reply to that comment:
Nobody here hates Jalen.
do you read the board???

I hope this is good enough, but there are firewalls on this board due to it being a paid subscription board.

I honestly don't know what MacdoNOld, KubiHACK, and MilNO are thinking they will accomplish here. I have altered their names and therefore they are doomed.

Alabama is completely free of racism, and Alabama Football fans don't have a racist bone in their body.

They're cured.
I’m sensing a wee bit of sarcasm in your statement! ;)

I grew up in the South, in GA and attended the University of Alabama. I just love how people are calling me out for stating the obvious in the rural South. There are so many red necks that drive around in their old beat-up pick-up trucks with the Confederate flag hanging in the back window and a deer antlers on the front grill. Now this isn’t all of us, but believe me there are many in the South who still think the South will rise again, mostly uneducated.

Sarcasm?!? @toffee Get your ass in here!

Also - Welcome Bamagirl!

I perused one of the Bama boards after the draft and the posters seemed split on whether his abilities can be coached up. Most seemed to agree he is an athletic freak. There was some back and forth about the skill players threatening to leave if he stayed - but there was never any back up for that just rumors.

The South has changed, although the last time I visited was during the turn of the century, so my information could be outdated. I don't have much desire to revisit, I have been focusing my traveling to Europe and Asia, although I do frequent the few soul food restaurants in LA.

In my days, Archie Manning's team was 100% Mississipian boys, ok, I don't know that, but quite sure it was over 98%, the same percentage applied to the student body too, almost all white, all Mississipians, with a few minorities. The service personnel were almost all black. Archie was a hero, he could do no wrong.

Waving "Southern Cross" during football games? Hey that was the Rebel's flag, lol, for Rebel football, 98% of the students and faculty waved that. Southern Cross on the license plate? Been there, done that. Did that plate earn side eyes in LA? Sure it did, fingers too.

I think 'Bama and Mississippi are quite similar, although we were lower down the food chain. We, the Rebels HATED your team, lol, oh well.

See above, I don't do sarcasm, I meant every word that I posted.

Here is article that includes tweets about Milroe and racism.

I’m done with this topic. I find it interesting that the Great North West people have determined that these Confederate flag waving, red neck, uneducated people would never have a racist point of view and that people from the rural South are so progressive and enlightened.
