What we do know:
What we speculate:
- Our offense was better at the start of the season, but didn't improve over the last 12 games, and ended with no TD and two field goals against the lowly Bears.
- Geno had his moments at the beginning of the season, Geno of today is not as good.
- Coaches can do only so much, the best game-planning or play callings could be wasted by poor execution. This theory is widely adopted by the GeNOs.
- Other than JSN's breakout year, most other offense players suffered a subpar year, that points to coaching. This theory is adopted by the Geno fanboys and media type like Dave Wyman? Mark Schlereth? Brock Huard? Sherm? Top Billin'?
Geno audibles out a lot and then shit hits the fan. Not to say it doesn’t otherwise but that audible to a blocking tight end makes me wonder if he activated his dipshit chakraIt's Grubb, his plays are so predictable and for some reason he cannot operate his offense from under center. He hasn't showed any fill for play calling, and always seems to call running plays when teams are blitzing.
This very well maybe the case, but Grubb still is the problem. Along with an above average Qb.Geno audibles out a lot and then shit hits the fan. Not to say it doesn’t otherwise but that audible to a blocking tight end makes me wonder if he activated his dipshit chakra
This is the same for me. Stat wise the offense isn’t much different than last year. We even moved the ball really well against a great Minnesota defense. If Grubb is so bad it doesn’t add up for me that the numbers are what they are. I voted the line only because improve that and I think Grubb and Geno do look better. What part of the field are we talking about? Red zone Geno, between the twenties Oline and overall Grubb for not running enough.
If I have to pick a problem for me it would have to be scoring in the red zone and that is mostly a Geno problem.
I think everything listed needs improvement and I think you can make a reasonable argument for the line, Geno, Grubb or any combo you want.
Audibles are preset, by the OC, depending on the look the D gives. They do not, however, have caveats for personnel. Personnel and formations aren't part of the QBs responsibilities. If the D gives you the look that the coaches setup the specific audible for, you check into it. You don't have time to assess personnel in that scenario. If they're on the field, they should be able to do their job.Geno audibles out a lot and then shit hits the fan. Given Grubb did very little to mitigate the fact that our line was maligned when there were rather simple adjustments he could have made to help things, I'd say assuming there's some wealth of production and ingenuity to come from him 'if we just get bettet linemen' is wishful thinking.A good oline solves a lot of issues and it would very interesting to see if it's grubb or geno at that point.
