I wanted to trade DK when we got rid of Wilson. The Jets were offering 2 1st round picks. Could have gotten Garrett Wilson w/ that pick. Less money w/ less tantrums and drama. My biggest fears were that he was going to be crying and complaining about not get touches, affecting whoever the QB was going to be. 2020 playoff tantrum

Now he is actually causing penalties not because the DB got into his head but because he didn't get the ball when he was open. This guy is a child and all that BS about him maturing will never happen. I love his physicality, speed, and his catching is a lot better now but way too much baggage. Sadly we paid him, so we are stuck with his huge dead money. If we can still get draft picks, i say we do it. Carolina(0-6) 1st round pick & 3rd round pick for DK & 3rd round pick. DK has an out in the 2025 season, i doubt he will stick around and we aren't going to be dumb enough to pay him again.

DK's rare talent is being diminished by his bone headed penalties, neutralizing himself. I also don't think Waldron's playcalling/schemes are adept enough to propel this offense to a top 5 in the league. IMHO, the key to maximizing this offense is leaning on the run game & utilizing our TE's. Accomplish that and things will open up for our WR's, problem is DK loses his mind if he's not fed the ball enough. Forcing looks to Metcalf can be drive ending as often as extending and without red zone shots, DK's value is lowered.
Calvin Johnson couldn't carry the Lions to a SB and both Waldron & DK need to realize they are blessed with a lot more offensive talent than just a hot-headed Megatron.
I think DK has been given too many passes & becoming a penalty magnet.
Trade him for a 1st or two 2nds if it saves towards the cap, otherwise get him straightened out & in control on the field.
*I think (hope, suspect) that DK's negative actions on the field are a result of him being highly competitive & wanting to win vs needing inflated stats.
Time for some team ball, translation; wake up Waldron, cool it DK.

Go away with this kind of non sense. Are Seahawks fans the dumbest fan base!?

Last year I would have agreed with you, but with spending a 1st rounder on JSN and the emergence of Bobo it's not a completely insane proposition.

DK's a stud, but the combo of the WR room additions and his cap hit going from 14M this year to almost 25M next year? It's not a non-starter for me anymore.

I'm also tired of his nonsense, but that's not even 10% of why I'd consider trading him, my previous sentence is why it's up for debate now.

Dennis Rodman, was a team player, though. That’s the difference.

Rodman, aside, from a few officiating calls, was loved by his teammates and didn’t pick fights with other players.

Rodman, was also DPOY.

I love the Worm! Rodman, was awesome! A Legend!
How many rebounds did DK have yesterday? Because that’s what Rodman excelled at. Other than off the chart measurables, DK doesn’t really consistently dominate in any aspect of his game. I really like DK but ya gotta start asking if he lives up to his billing.

Any other random NFL fan that wandered into .net and digested the 12's opinions in here would likely conclude our problems are connected to:
1)Pete
2)Geno
3)DK
But in my opinion that's just stuff that gets thrown against the wall in our little frustrated biatch sessions.
In truth I think our biggest problems lie with Waldron, Hurtt and a developing offensive line. All fixable if they are ready & willing to step up to the challenge.

Yeah, assistant coaches always make a nice scapegoat for the people who actually oversee the roster at large. Pete gets all the credit and none of the blame.

Trading him is extreme. His talent is there.

I just want to see someone *cough Carroll* hold him accountable

Yup… KJ in his live post game Q&A was asked about accountability and he said, well There is no real ”leaders” on the offensive side to give and hold people accountable and that needs to start with Coach Carroll.. I love him but he needs to hold players accountable, which the team lacks. DK.. I get it but as someone who played, he’s a dawg on that team.. a team that’s hasn’t had much of a bark in recent years.

not verbatim but damn close.

I'd agree with that. Particularly in the Waldron situation - or what I suspect the Waldron situation is.....

This is true.

The value in return for what you paid for with Metcalf doesn’t align.

Ask yourself this, is Metcalf, consistently a Top 5 NFC receiver? Hell, DK, may not even be a top Top 10, NFL receiver…

I’d rather have currently injured on IR, Justin Jefferson, than 17 game fully healthy DK Metcalf right now.

That also ignores the additional $23M of dead money that would fall on the 2024 cap (it only shows the $11.5M on the 2023 cap).
Oh, and the cap savings are prorated. Since Metcalf has already been on the Seahawks roster for five of 17 games, the savings wouldn't even be $2.2M. It would be $1.55M, and it goes down by $129K each week from now on.

Further, the acquiring team would get Metcalf at $129K per game for the rest of the season, and would have until the fifth day of the next league year (St. Patrick's Day of 2024, I believe) to decide whether to keep him or not. If not, the team could let him go with no further cost. Once he's on a roster on the fifth day of the league year, his 2024 salary is guaranteed.
I believe the only guarantee that would be given on his 2025 salary would be once the 2025 season actually starts in September of '25. At that point, the salaries of all vested veterans on NFL rosters become completely guaranteed.

"TRADE DK!" really makes no sense. It does almost nothing for the Seahawks and would be doing a giant favor for some other team.

Gee, DK, if you think there is a "lack of leadership" (which I doubt, BTW) perhaps you should step up and start being one. 🤷‍♂️

Speaking as someone who has never played ball and have limited knowledge of XO, lol, make that no knowledge of XO: I would like to see a game where Bobo runs DK's plays. They are the same height, DK is a lot bigger of course. No doubt DK is much faster, but when was the last time he ran away from guys or gain lots of YAC? With his superior speed, he seldom gain enough separations to facilitate YAC, or have I missed something? Of course, he ran a CB down to prevent a TD.

Bobo, is a UDFA, supposed to be unthinkably slow at 4.99, but he's getting some YAC in yesterday's game.

As a 12, I like to see a game where Bobo runs DK's plays.

Pete gets none of the blame? How long have you been here? He's #1 if we were making a "who's to blame" top 10 list since he got here.

Did anyone hear Pete Carroll this morning on 710 am Seattle? He completely made excuses for Metcalf , no accountability for his actions!!!

That disturbs me more than any other issue including losing the gamea. A game that was very winnable IMHO . #14 isn't worth what they're paying him.

I know Geno Smith didn't have his best day but I still support him and believe he'll bounce back.
