I don't hate him at all. There are good folks in the world and bad. There are genuine people and there are charlatans. There are those who are self promoters and those who are selfless.

That's a fact of life. Just as there are fruits that nourish and fruits that can make you sick. If you aren't forced to consume it, it's not the fault of the fruit if you fall victim to it.

What amazes me and at times, gets me worked up is how convincing he was in portraying one thing while the real truth was something different... and how many folks he fooled.

It's not hate or dislike at all. Russ is no worse than a good % of society. He's not evil. Just self absorbed. He's a 'small' man who has done some big things. But he's no where near as great as he portrays or some believe.

I will say the way he left was some BS. Slandering friends and those who helped you, or nit being aware or mature enough to know the difference... poor 'humaning'. Especially for.someone who portrays himself as the good guy.

Same with the non profit bs. The only thing I'll say there is he spins this altruistic image, when I reality, he's padding his pockets. But there's SOME good being done.

At the end of the day, he's no better at reading societal cues and understanding moral right and wrong and acting on the 'right' as he is reading and understanding coverages.

He's just Russ. You just need to know who he is.

That's a very fair take, and I like your analogies.

So the lower the more dislike?
I'd be at 4 or 5 because I cannot stand phoney people..He didn't have his friends
back(Golden) or his ex wife.
A true man of God doesn't do that..He's all about himself.
A snake in the grass if there ever was one.

No, other way around. 10 means you want him to burn in hell, 1 means you want to make love to him.

And I agree with you. Heck, I put myself at a 10, which would be more dislike than what you've evaluated your feelings toward him as being.

I'm not saying this as a criticism as I totally get why so many of my fellow posters are upset and I share many of the same emotions, but I think that the majority of folks in here are at an 8 or 9.
7 felt about right in my case, that said, I do not hate Russell Wilson. I just did not want him as a player on Seahawks anymore since 2020 and created threads here advocated on trading Wilson. I just didn't and still don't think that our path to the promised land would have him as our QB.

Im in the 8 range as well. I’m only not higher because he isn’t Deshawn Watson, but frankly Erin has better character.

Every time I witness Russ talk about Jesus, which is about half his Twitter, I think of the supervisor who told a worker THAT RUSSELL HIMSELF SAID AS A BOARD MEMBER that “tithing” 10 percent was more spiritually required than communion. Thats what Jesus talk means to him: More tithing. More revenue.

Just like the Seattle Children’s trips ended up being part of his nonprofit foundation con that gives 75 percent of proceeds to Team3 Employees. As far as his own charitable appearances, they’re paying him or he’s taking a tax write off on his speakers fee, first class plane ride, hotel suite, Ciaras dress.

Just as Russ will never read a defense, he’s incapable of learning that many People just do things to be good people, including your fellow nfl players That went to San Quentin around week 15 last year To give inmates kids stuff that the 49ers wrapped.

Think Hufunga or Armistead was like “hmm, how big off a write off can I get away with on a “speakers fee”? Think Hamlin is promoting cpr to maximize his clothing line?

Hmm...I'll give it a 7.5 on the scale. LOL. 7 felt just a tad too low.

There's things that personally bug me about RW that are representative of bigger things that bug the shyt out of me. For one, I get annoyed at people who are always posting themselves in a favorable light on social media. For two, he's so representative of that phony corporate image structuring that pretty much grew distasteful to me, say, 40 years ago or so.

I'm with you at 8.9

I don't want the lad to burn in hell. He'd probably aggravate the devil and get traded

This is a big one for me too. During so much of his Seahawk time when he was laughed at ridiculed for his corniness I defended him saying he was just being himself. It sounds ridiculous now. I don't hate him, but I totally enjoy the jokes at his expense, like the jokes about "let's ride", the Subway ad etc.
I admit part of that is being fooled by what we now see as an act and how he really was behind the scenes.

Five seconds to release the ball In what Russ believes is his ideal throwing situation. Five seconds for Maxx Crosby or any pass rusher to squish him.

He always reenergized and puttin the work in the offseason. Its when he has to read actual nfl defenses, makein game presnap adjustments and quick throws where he starts to fall apart.

I'm definitely at an 8 or 9. I don't think he's a bad person, so I can't go to 10 (or 11). But he turned his back on Seattle and all Seahawk fans. He was a phony who pretended to like Seattle. He had a good thing here and didn't appreciate it. His endless self-promotion and lack of self-awareness hurt the team. He tried to get people fired. I will again hate watch the Broncos this year and root for him to fail. Sorry, that's just the way it is.

Actually, I'm at a 7. I was saying that I felt that the majority of posters felt a little more strongly than I do, i.e. at an 8 or 9. It would make an interesting poll question.

I have a better analogy. Have you ever filed a complaint about a product or service then received a form letter that goes something like this: "Thank you for your correspondence. We here at Brand X share your high standards for excellence and are committed to a goal of 100% customer satisfaction. For the past 50 years, we've partnered with our customers to bring them the best quality products at below market cost. I have forwarded your concerns to our customer service department for immediate resolution."

That's the type of lip service that Russell would give.

Oh, and the letter would end with the salutation "Go Brand X!"

Inside the Russell Wilson-Seattle Seahawks drama that led to the Denver Broncos trade

  • Henderson brady
Brady Henderson, ESPNSep 7, 2022, 06:35 AM ET

I only read this article this morning and found it to be very detailed and insightful with its length and depth. I've been ambivalent about ESPN sources but this is one of a few I would actually recommend. It's point of view gives equal credence to both "sides of the story".
