Nice synopsis of a character some fans/observers of his time here have picked up on. He's just so odd. I always thought he wanted to become a cool "power couple" like Beyonce and Jay Z. But the thing is RW is decidedly not cool like Jay Z, and Ciara, from a purely appearance standpoint, doesn't quite complement his smarmy "black Opie" good Christian boy persona. For a guy who is image obsessed, he's proven to be a bit of an awkward and inept fashioner of it.

Totally agree with you about him becoming a successful football pundit, or podcaster, or reality show type of personality. He's just not that interesting of a guy, at least in terms of appealing to anything other than a very small percentage of the audience for such things. He's not enough of a controversial douchebag to attract an audience's attention (there's so many of those around already), and neither is he someone capable of providing any kind of a keen and unique insight into just about any topic of significance you can think of. Such a thing takes a singular mind who is decidedly not obsessed with how their thoughts and opinions are going to be perceived.

I agree. RW is in a pickle. He does have a significant net worth now, and if he manages to live within his means, he'll be just fine from that angle. I do, however, still thinks he sees himself as some kind of significant agent in the Lord's plan. We'll see how that goes.
If he was a talking head broadcaster I would absolutely be curious to what he would have to say and how he would do. No expectations but I gotta see that

I mean… people watch Mormon wives…

Geno, a former Jet, then Seahawk (then Raider), then a Jet again.
Russell, a former Seahawk (then Bronco then Steeler then Giant), then a Jet.
Sam Darnold, a former Jet (and other teams), now a Seahawk.

Weird, eh?

I legit thought that was AI. How much his star has flamed out since leaving us is astounding.

He went from a legit PNW legend/HOF candidate to persona non grata and an NFL cautionary tale.

Poetic.

There was report Wilson checked out the Jets after his game with the Bananas.

Wouldn’t that be ironic if Wilson signed with the Jets, only to be the Jets backup to Geno Smith, after everything that has happened all of these years?

Wilson, is the poster child for do not let your ego self sabotage your entire career. Wilson, had a good thing going with Seattle until he believed he was actually A LOT better off being unstructured and believing he was bigger than better than the sum of the parts.

What’s crazy is Wilson was on pace to be a HOF and now, I don’t think he is going to sniff even being considered to be nominated to be voted on.

All his stops since he has left Seattle has pretty much derailed his chances of anything else in the NFL. Wilson, was well liked in the beginning and now is a shell of his former self, and this downward spiral was all because he thought he was bigger than the team.

I'm not sure how on track Russell was for the HOF before he left Seattle. Even in his best years, he was never thought of as being at the top of his position. There was always at least 2-3 other quarterbacks, guys like Brady, Rodgers, and Brees, who were generally regarded as the better QB. IMO he was a 2nd tier quarterback.

What Russell needed was either a league MVP or a SB MVP. Otherwise, I don't think he would have gotten a gold jacket even before his flame out over the past 4 seasons.

Super Bowl MVP like when he threw a interception, if that would have been a completion and a TD he would have had that, also we may have been back to back to back.

Why I beleive it was orchestarated for him to throw the ball, his legasy instead of running the ball.
