The Denver pick can easily move down to 5

I like Geno, but you're not winning superbowl with that guy. You need a top 5 QB to win it all with our defensive issues
Isn't that the point of having a bunch of top picks? Also, we are in the playoffs now... with Geno.

You're [probably] not winning a SB with a top 5 qb either. Although, we ain't dead yet.

you're proving my point. They will improve on defense if they pick wisely in the draft. How Much? probably get to middle of the road 15th or so. A middling defense and Geno isn't getting you to the superb owl.

I guess it's hard to argue against a 'top 5' quarterback hypothetical. I just don't think any of the QBs in this draft are 'top 5' quarterbacks. Their only improvement over Geno would be contractually.

You can use your 4 picks in the first two rounds to get a premier edge rusher, interior dline, a higher end CB and then bpa from then on.

Stroud or Levis are the only two who could potentially be avialable. An Ohio State QB who played with exceptional talent on the outside. Stroud has a lot going for him, but he's not a top 5 QB. He might be Top 10 at some point in his career.

Will Levis is the bust of this draft. Great arm talent, quick release, he's tall... but he just lacks everywhere else. He doesn't have the recognition that Stroud has by a mile and he can't throw on the run at all.

You are over .500 with Geno and in the playoffs (with this defense and inconsistency in the run game). Unless this was an exceptional draft class for QBs, you're not making huge strides. Why worry about 2026 when you are 4 games from being SB champion NOW?

Montana not top 5, Wilson not top 5, Rodgers not top 5, Brady not top 5, Farve not top 5, I would say that you can win Super Bowls without a Top 5 QB.

Even though the majority of SB's in the modern day game have been won by teams without a top 5 QB?

I don’t think we’ll have a shot at Young, Carter, Stroud, or Anderson.

I do like Murphy and I’m willing to bet Richardson may fall around the range of our 2nd first round pick. I’m not convinced he’s a “stud” though.

I teeter-totter back and forth between wanting 3-4 straight defensive picks or taking a chance on a QB in the first.

But, I don’t and never have wanted to take a QB with our very first pick. I will say if Stroud happens to fall there though…..

I went back and looked though at the quality of QB for both teams in the SB for the past 15 years or so and its almost always an elite guy so its a double edge sword. Sure you don't want to be paying top 5 money but you need a top 5 playing guy to get there. Sure there are a couple of outliers but the vast majority of QB's who make it are elite or very close to it. The teams that make it without that have outlier type strength elsewhere like defense. I guarantee the final 4 will probably have 3 elite guys and maybe San Fran sneaks in with Purdy.

It's really hard to make it without very, very good QB play.

Yes it’s about pulling players. If the Bengals beat the Ravens before the Chargers play the Broncos it’s all but certain the Chargers will be resting their starters. The Broncos then likely will win the game and then the Seahawks will be picking fifth because I don’t see any way Arizona beats San Francisco.

I know you said picks 3 to 5 work for you but I’ve been following the draft since the 80s and there’s a huge difference between three and five especially this draft with the players and the value of those picks.
I knew back then how important the #3 pick would be. Like Spoon, but would have liked to get the haul AZ got for 3 pick.

Damn the Chargers for not being able to put just a few more measly points on the board in the regular season finale.
