If the 49ers lose to the bears or colts and we beat the Panthers, do we clinch the division?
The Seahawks lose tie-breakers to both the 49ers and the Rams. To win the division the Seahawks must have a better overall record. If the Seahawks lose to the Panthers and the Rams win then the Rams would be back ahead of the Seahawks.

Don't we have the tie breaker over the rams now?

For there to be a tie the Rams must now win exactly 1 more of the remaining regular season games than the Seahawks. Thus 2 Rams win and 1 Seahawks loss or 1 Rams win and 2 Seahawks losses. Should that happen both teams would have the same record.

1st tie-breaker is head-to-head, which would be a 1-1 tie. 2nd tie-breaker is divisional record. Assuming both the Rams and Seahawks both win or both lose in Week 18 both will be tied at 4-2 or 3-3. 3rd tie-breaker is common games. For a tie within a division that means the 4 games against the NFC South and the AFC South. If the Rams beat the Falcons and the Seahawks lose to the panthers the Rams will be 7-1 whilst the Seahawks would be 6-2.

Basically if the Rams win both games a Seahawks loss would cause them to lose the tie-break on either the 2nd or 3rd tie-breaker depending on which game the Seahawks lost.

Why would Detroit be nipping at Seattle's heels for a wildcard?
Not Seattle . SF . I just don’t see a lot of scenarios where the teams will be resting starters

Back in Seattle.
The Carolina Panthers are one of the best teams in the NFL at home this year. I can't even think about San Fran until we can pull off a win in Carolina this week. I'm pretty shocked we're favored by 7.5 early TBH.

Started this thread two weeks ago when nobody was talking about the 49ers. Now, not so funny anymore. That team may very well win this division, and as I was saying then, at 5.5–1 odds, they were a real great bet.
