I think LJ represents a continuation of the 2018 over-correction in draft philosophy after the McDowell fiasco. They ignored his explosiveness red flags to bank on his pressure production instead. Another example of seemingly high-floor picks actually being pretty much the opposite.
I don't think the pick was out of left field. I specifically had him as one of the 3 players I didn't want in the back of the first at the time, along with Rashan Gary and Parris Campbell.
