    Agree 100% - you can't give Russ $50Mil, and realistically they don't have the roster to compete for a Championship in the next couple years, so best to trade him now. Problem is that Pete wont want to do it.

    Simple roster construction. When you have one of the worst DL's in the league it doesn't make much sense to have two safeties making $15 Million + each. Safe assumption Diggs will want at least $14 million minimum, and that money is better used shoring up the DL.

    It would be a massive mistake signing him to a big extension - so I am fully anticipating that is what they will do. Having $30 plus million in safeties is a bad idea when your DL is one of the worst in the league. They would just be compounding the Jamal Adams mistake.

    He is a free agent, it isnt about getting rid of him, it is about allocating $$ wisely. And since they already completely pooped the bed with Jamal Adams, they dont have much of a choice. You cant have two of the highest paid safeties in the league when your DL stinks.
