Same blue print. Same nasty D and beefed up O line and running game. Get rid of Brown, Wagner and Wilson for cap space and draft capital and insert a coachable rookie quarterback and win another chip. This isn't rocket science, Wilson takes up 20% and doesn't live up to expectations time to trim the fat.

thanks for the laugh. Not going to happen. he no longer has inside knowledge on college players and he still needed a Qb who could make magic, not just any QB will do.

Whatever!!!

The same negative folks express the same negative views on every topic. Tedious!

Interesting that many football savvy folks around the league greatly disagree with the negative viewpoints. However, hey whatever floats your boat.

I wonder if PC/JS would be open to bringing back Scot McCloughan as an personnel executive. He was instrumental in constructing the Seahawks from 2010 -2013. There was a huge drop when he left the organization. He may be the "X" factor in getting the team constructed as a contender again -

According to this, he might still be consultant with Philly -

Lol.

Pete doesn’t have his college inside track information on good players like he first did those first early seasons with Seattle.

Pete’s success for drafting high caliber players have been in a drought for years and years and years now.

It’s not likely to change cause he’s in his 12th NFL off season.

I wouldnt be opposed to trading RW, but what In the past 5 years gives you any indication PC and JS know how to draft, sign free agents, or make competent trades? Drafts are absolutely awful, free agents signings awful, Adams trade one of the worst in last 10 years in the NFL. Trade RW fine, but please don't let these guys make the deal or be in charge of the rebuild.

Pete has the blueprint for how to pack a team with 3-5 Probowl caliber players in 3-5 years.

He won't use it now but he has it.

As for the rest?

I highly doubt that Pete will ever even get to a playoff game again as a HC.

Almost sure he won't.

The thing that's crazy is that they've been building that team now in ernest for 2 years. The big miss this offseason was a Dline gamble that didn't pay off. Injuries at cb and safety did us in.

Acquire depth at CB, a beast on the dline with solid rotational pieces there and a LB opposite Brooks and the D will be special.

And many cant see how close the offense is because they can't see how much qb play is dictating outcomes of games. A top 12 Center would be great, but otherwise, we just need healthy bodies In the backfield and solid efficient, consistent play from the qb position to make good use of the investment we made in Waldron.

Thing is, when they do win again, for many, the default rational will somehow have them winning despite Pete...

He is 70. He’s not building a contender lol. He’s milking the money at this point. I don’t fault him for that but he is.

He won't

He was drafting players that fit his mold and were not players the general opinion of GM's and scouts outside Seattle wanted, long CB's Tweeners Safety, Too Short QB that just won, Lighter LB's that had speed.

The rest of the league has mirrored that now, those players are available for the taking at will.

Thats the first strike, the second is he does not have the intimate knowledge of players like he did when he first started coaching here.

Third is if he is to rebuild he has to adapt, something he has not done ever.

Lastly 4th is he does not have time on his side whether it be age or time to do it, Jody isn't going to say you have a 5 year project at this point.

That too short QB wasn't his idea, but he did adapt and became a believer once he saw Russ practice. Frankly, to this day, the biggest fan of Russell Wilson ain't John63, it's one Pete Carroll. It must broke Pete old heart when Russ wanted to dump him last off-season, and recent presser like Lions' game may be his last at Lumen field.

I'd take a drunk Scot McCloughan over a sober PC. Especially in the early rounds.

Could he? Sure, anything is possible. There are pieces in place. Here is where you lost me:

“insert a coachable rookie quarterback”

Is it really that easy? Inserting a coachable rookie QB first hinges on the ability to find one. Every single year, there are highly regarded QBs that are draft eligible that teams and fans drool all over. Every single year there are at least half of these guys who are busts and don’t pan out. Basing your future success on picking a QB off the magic QB tree. Hmmmm, should we pick a franchise QB off the tree this year or should we just grab a coachable rookie that will do everything needed to get a championship?

If everything from management of the team to the current starting QB, remains status quo, and they are honestly able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the team, and find suitable pieces in free agency and find at least a couple of nuggets in the draft, then yes, this team will be a contender again fairly quickly.

Do contenders win more than one playoff game in FIVE years (or 3 in 7?) What held him back the last 5 years that has suddenly changed now? He’s been wasting RWs career and our time for way too long.
