It seems increasingly like 50+ yard field goals are no big deal. What changed? Saw another one last night to tie the game. I actually turned the game off with a little over a minute to go, thinking Tampa had it in the bag. Wrong…Saw the FG on replay.

It’s becoming more of an art form than an afterthought.

Players sinking more and more time, technique and training into it.

The 70 yarders in practice that used to be eye-opening in practice are commonplace now.

The next mark we’ll see passed is a HC having the guts to go for three points from 70 in-game. I doubt it’s far away, tbh

This is one of the things that makes college football better. Field goals should add to the wild card factor. 40+ yards should be like a 60% chance to make. In college, they are far from automatic, and add to the dynamic and excitement of the game. The NFL they are so routine there is almost no excitement.

They should narrow the posts or move them back altogether, or both.

Hasn't seemed drastically more common from my own viewing. I noticed the announcers are commenting about it a lot though
