Trades are happening - but not for us?

It seems like we don't have a perfect roster quite yet and we do have some injuries. Maybe JS should do something? If no for this year then for next?

I guess I need to pay closer attention. Didn't see anything on the front page or NFL page of ESPN. My bad.

We have more than a couple of weeks. There will be some action, I think.

A majority of teams in the league need offensive line help, so that's a tough ask.

But perhaps a player-for-player swap could get something done?

If Metcalf is on the market (as some speculate), perhaps he and a mid-round pick could snag Mike Onwenu (Guard that can play right tackle in a pinch) and Jaquelin Roy (DT) from the Pats. Onwenu is nasty. We'd like him. And Roy hasn't found his footing in the league yet. But he is worth a flier.

I know our O-line is crap and needs huge help. But we are still 13th in points per game - I feel like if our D could get a couple more stops a game or maybe not give up 15 yds per rush (or whatever it actually is) we would probably have won a couple more games.

So maybe getting some extra D help was the best move for right now. I don't think there are O linemen sitting on their couches that are a whole bunch better than what we have right now.

It’s not like we are one player away from a ring. Nor do we have any cap space. Nor do we have a boatload of extra picks to trade away.

We need players on rookie deals. Save the picks. Maybe trade for more. The last thing we need is overpriced cast offs. Cheap reclamation projects are ok.

I like the idea, it just seems offensive lineman are at a premium and who wants to trade them away for a temperamental wr?

It's true. But I could see a young coach think that they could be the one to unlock DK's ridiculous talent.

There are a lot of smaller trades happening, but the bigger ones so far aren't needle-moving, especially for us.

OL are in short supply. 25+ teams could use at least one upgrade on their starting line, and no one is looking to move off of them due to the demand absolutely dwarfing the supply.

I'm fine with standing pat. If they move DK, I'd really like to see them put him toward an offensive lineman. A Trey Smith or a Zach Tom.

I don't think big trades are happening for Seattle because they're not in a "win now" mode. That got this team into trouble a lot when Pete was here. Tossing away 2nd or 3rd Rounders like they're candy for expensive rentals or players that ultimately didn't pan out. I think teams and coaches always tell themselves they're striving to get to the playoffs and win the Superbowl, but I think realistic they know their chances and what their roster. Seattle has traded for a veteran role player so far and that's it, they ain't gonna make a big trade for a flashy player when ultimately there's no point. Save the stock for the draft.

Good point . I hadn't looked at it from that angle. Get him in a different environment etc..

Then and only then he'll become the WR of the century

You're right , Seattle did that a lot when PC was chasing the dragon after SB49. The moves looked more desperate as time unfolded.

I'd take picks . You're right, I don't see teams giving up starting lineman. Look at the players we've been able to get via trade on defense. 2nd and 3rd string type dudes. Anyone above that , Seattle is going to give up high draft capital.

I'd like to see the Seahawks work a trade with the Jets for Haason Reddick. He would definitely improve the defense especially on the edge and pass rush. He could also force Dre'mont Jones to play less which would be an improvement in itself.

Trades are a poor way of building a good team. Why, cause eventually you will not afford those players and you give away your future cheap players.

Drafting well is the only way.

Seattle needs at least 3 more drafts to really be competitive….there’s no other way.
