I'm 100% convinced that the NFL sucks at developing QBs. Smart teams have a backup that can play when the starter goes down, and a third stringer developmental QB. It is NOT a wasted roster spot to have a 3rd QB - it is the only smart thing to do.

Look at our QB history -
- Jim Zorn, signed by the cowgirls as an undrafted free agent to develop him.
- Dave Krieg, another undrafted free agent. They signed him to sit him behind Sam Atkins, the backup, to develop him.
- Matt Hasslebeck - drafted in the 6th round and sat on the Packers practice squad to develop
- Russell Wilson - drafted with the intention of sitting him behind Matt Flynn....to develop him. I guess that worked out better than intended...

Our history with can't-miss first rounders is less than stellar.

I'm all for trading Milroe if we get better than the pick we spent on him.....but then we'd need to draft another developmental QB. No doubt for the forums would trash on his replacement too.

Darnold, Geno Smith too i'll even add Daniel Jones before he got hurt. There's too much pressure on teams and qb's to succeed fast or label people as busts. NY and Cleveland seems to be places where QB careers go to die.

In the past you sat for a bit and learned or went to somewhere like NFL Europe.

I don't think picks from before this administration should matter towards it, but some of our best players have been guys who were considered safe "can't miss" picks. Like Hutch, Tez, Big Walt, Galloway.

Because I know it's coming yeah yeah Aaron Curry was bad.

Seattle is in great position to develop Milroe. Milroe is seeing the journey Darnold undergone and what it takes to transcend to greatness for a QB. I think you hold onto Milroe until his rookie contact is up. Is Milroe the future QB of the Seahawks, who knows, but, Seattle does not have to do anything in terms of rushing Milroe into the mix, which, developmentally, is good for both parties.

Difference is though that Darnold was a top end first round QB. I remember him at USC torching a very good Chris Petersen Husky defence that were top 5 in the country at the time. He took a bit longer to adjust to the league but is showing those qualities now. Milroe is a good athlete but thats about it so far.

Well, the thread is about Milroe. I didn't bring him up out of nowhere.

One of those two players is a Pro Bowler. One of them isn't.
While that is true, it's because they couldn't get anyone else to play in the pro bowl. He was the 15th choice because 14 guys elected not to play.

Team can have Anthony Richardson for probably a 7th rounder. Why would they pay anything for Milroe?

The thing with QB is after you drafted them , they are basically hit or bust. They lost value faster than a Tesla

if someone offered pick #75 yes
but that's not happening

trading Milroe right now is an ultimate sell low. He was always a lottery pick that was going to take some time, We are still early in that process. he needs to have some success in another preseason or two and maybe some gadget plays or mop up duty to build up his stock.

it seems like every gadget play he ran this year was a disaster

I'm so indifferent it about that I couldn't care less if they did or they didn't. I don't really know if he's worth keeping or not.
