We've split up the route tree and looked at all of the advanced receiver metrics available to us -- including target percentage, reception percentage, yards per route run and separation -- to examine who excelled in 2019.

Below, we'll reveal the top three receivers for eight different routes, and tell you why the No. 1-ranked player for each was the best running that particular route.

Derrick Henry among top 10 RBs exceeding expected rushing yards

Carson joined McCaffrey on our list of most explosive runners with the last but definitely not least position, so it shouldn't be a huge surprise to see him in this group, as well.

Anyone who watched Seattle perform down the stretch without him also won't be stunned to see the numbers tell us what we also saw with our own eyes: Carson achieved above expectation in 2019.

The 222-pound running back runs with a speed that matches his 5-11 frame but a power that looks more like it came from someone rumbling around 235 pounds

(Carlos Hyde is also mentioned)

More on Chris Carson who is the main cog of our Offense:

but he was incredibly important to the Seahawks' success in 2019 because of his ability to break tackles and consistently churn up yards.

His 50 15-plus mph runs and average of 4.3 yards gained after a defender closed within 1 yard proved how his explosiveness lasts just beyond the first burst, and it's a big reason why he was able to gain 1,230 yards on the ground in less than a full season.

That is the thing with Chris Carson, he almost never loses yardage. He's always good for a few yards on the ground, even during unfavorable blocking conditions. He's not someone that I would call a big play threat, but he certainly is one of the most consistent RBs I've seen as far as just gaining yardage.
