Too many wide open receivers

Entire secondary isn't getting it done. Some of it was owing to poor pass rush but just in general, there are big holes out there.

847 passing yards allowed by the Hawks first 2 weeks is somewhat disturbing . Has to be fixed soon . IMO

And? They are 2-0. You can't just ignore the fact that Diggs and Blair were BOTH out. It changed the entire defense. Plus, Dunbar should have had 2 pick 6's. Incredibly lucky break for Cam.

They weren't out last week.

800 yds in 2 weeks is bad no matter who is playing.

That is on our DC, not on the injuries.

Wilson is on pace for 72 TDs. That is not sustainable.

We need the defense to at least not be a bottom 5 defense.

Did they win or not? Geezus man, why is it so hard to enjoy wins? Just once? Not trying to argue, but every time they win, it sounds like they lost the game on here. Just my opinion that's all...…...

You are right HUsky they weren't out last week, but it was 200 yards of garbage time yards too..

Are we ignoring that fact?

It doesnt seem like they are being that aggressive with the cbs even w/ Jamal out there. game 1 it made more sense w Julio and Ridley out there. I thought they would be more aggressive against NE wrs.

800 yds passing in 2 weeks is a problem.

They won a game their QB threw for 5 TDs. (And almost lost it if that WR does not let the ball go through his hands)

The objective this year should not be to win the most games in the regular season. It is go farther in the playoffs.

This is a very bad red flag. There is no way this team does anything in the playoffs outside of the wildcard win if they do not fix this. MAYBE if they win the division but then they will lose the game against whatever division opponent they play.

Yes it is a win. That was fantastic. But it was also a very very bad sign this team has a tremendous issue that they might not be able to overcome. MAYBE if Quinn gets fired and they switch DCs midway through the season? But I don't see Carroll firing a DC midway through the year regardless.

So yes it feels great to win but it is impossible to see this defense and not be very very concerned.

I am sure its just an observation Soul. Don't you make observations DURING the game? Its okay to say "Yay...we got a win...but..."

If Russ goes down late in the game...and is obviously out for the year.....yet we did enough before hand to win...would you just be saying "Yes!!..we got the win!!"...and nothing else? In my book its perfectly fine to make observations after the game...….hell, even Wyman and the guys on the tube, make observations about the game. We all enjoy wins, just some look a little closer as to HOW we got it.

Dunbar had a pick, and almost had 2, Griffin played well and Adams was again a disruption machine.

Don't forget Diggs went out in the 2nd series of the game so Pete had to change how aggressive he was with the defensive backfield with Amadi and Hill playing.....then Blair went out and it got worse.

When you see wide open receivers running across the middle or down the seam? That's not a defensive back issue, that's a no pass rush issue where the QB has the 3-4 seconds it takes for the 2nd and 3rd options to come open running through zones.

Secondary is fine and honestly on paper can be top 5-10 in the league, Griffin struggled last week but was fine last night. Diggs was missed down the middle big time on those passes to Edelman.

The problem currently is and will continue to be the DL. There's just no guys stepping up (and I think we all assumed this would be the case, especially when Taylor was found out to be injured). Guys can't win 1 on 1 whatsoever and for two straight weeks its been a flat line pocket protecting the QB's. They have to make some changes, whether that's bringing Griffin and Robinson up, dumpster dive free agents, or I guess we have to pray the young guys step up.

The last 4 drives for the Pats were horrendous from a pass rush perspective (and most of the game honestly). If Pete wants to stick with his zone D, the front 4 HAVE to make some sort of impact pressuring the QB. Cam, who is notorious for struggling with progressions, was able to make multiple reads over and over. It seems the only time through 2 weeks QB's have been uncomfortable is sending Jamal Adams, a safety.

Of course I make observations during the game. Get plenty angry like anyone else. Especially that pathetic 3rd and 1 call. However, they are 2-0, I'm gonna' enjoy it and not act like the team sucks. The D absolutely has to improve. But I'm not gonna' sit here and be angry after WINS. Waste of energy, but fan how you want.
It just seems like the same crap every year on here, a LOT of complaining after WINS. It is what it is, Go Hawks.

I think people are just frustrated that Russell is playing about as humanly perfect as possible so far and they almost lost last night because the defense has been horrendous. 35 points at home, 5 passing TD's, and it came down to a goal line stop to potentially lose the game.

I hear ya. Should have never come down to that play, I get it. Run the ball on 3rd and 1 and seal the deal.

I assume the 3-1 play your talking about was the last pass play Wilson missed to lockett?

Dude thats the Seahawks.... they hit that play on 4th down against Atlanta.. I personally would have run the ball but the Seahawks are out of the box crazy good and they believe they are going to hit that play every time. This is the new norm... we are going to see that play a lot this year and another reason that's a good play is SF and LA will see that in the film... they know Wilson and BS are somewhat crazy and they will have to defend it which will make it easier to run the ball in that situation. Hit that play your a hero... miss it and not so much...

Who said I am not enjoying the win?. What is a football forum for, to just be rah-rah-rah? You are confusing a legitimate observation with chronic complaining. If not for this what do we have to discuss?

It's not like this is an observation out of left field either, yes some of it was due to the poor pass rush, particularly late, that I noted in the OP but there was more than that, receivers seemed to able to find a hole in the zone with ease even on quick hitters. Big open holes with no DB within yds of the receiver. Last week too.

seahawks has always been an average to below pass rush team

We have the same amount of sacks as the 49ers, Rams, Vikings, patriots, titans, and Saints.

Making my point Dome. EVERY time they win, it's doom and gloom. Repeat, after WINS.
It gets old that's all. Just like I'm sure it gets old when I point it out every time.

Pointing out that how opposing pass offenses are feasting on us is doom and gloom? It's more like stating the obvious.

You are overreacting.
